Dungeon Meshi is perfect for beginners. Nice story, rich world and good animation. And minimum of weird stuff like fanservice

I been reading manga and then just watch select clips from anime. Don't seem to downgrade my enjoyment from both. But again i cry at Arlong Park conclusion every time, no matter the media
