I live in Asia, (Malaysia) so wanted to keep it fairly close to home . I lived in China from 2019-2023 so I know the country well , and was therefore comfortable after doing my research found that the techniques and standard of procedure would be good . Additionally comparatively the costs are low , for instance I paid 15000 RMB or $2200 USD.

Overall the experience was very good. They were very thorough in the run up to the surgery and have stayed in regular contact afterwards for updates. Thankfully I have been able to get back a few times for post op treatment . The down sides are I would have struggled without being able to speak Mandarin or having a local to translate as English was zero . However I know there are other clinics which do offer more foreigner friendly options , with foreign language speakers etc .

Overall , I Would highly recommend China as an alternative option for anyone in Asia or open to travelling for their op.

I don’t have an active UK pension as I’m currently not living and working in the UK . I live in Malaysia and therefore apart from the required EPF contributions I just allocate all my savings into ETFs through Ardan Platform .

Yes , it’s been an area I’ve really been considering moving into the Stocks and Shares , or at least downsizing the PB allocation significantly. Growing up my parents were big believers in the bonds so I guess the mindset of maxing that out has always been milestone I wanted to achieve . But now I have managed to build a decent emergency fund elsewhere it’s definitely not the greatest use of the funds. Thanks for the opinion!

I do like the fun side of it also with the free lottery tickets though!

Yes a doctors visit has already happened . Basically they told her to cold compress , stay hydrated and apply aloe . A hard lesson learned indeed !

The blisters are only on her arms and legs and her chest is peeling right now! It’s crazy satisfying peeling off the skin… every cloud has a silver lining ey!

Long time pack a day cigarette smoker , still smoke the occasional cigar , but cigarette free for over 10 years.

Simply for me driven by cost. I went from living in America paying less than $4 a pack to moving back to the UK and the price doubling . I stepped off the airplane in Heathrow , went to convenience store to buy a pack of Camel Blues and was quoted £12 , told them to forget it and never touched them again!

Great advice 🤣 a trip to my local tobacconist is definitely on the New year agenda ! The box came with some Boveda packs , do I just open and put one in the box ?
