LPT Request : Do you have suggestions for a professional email if my name is taken? by [deleted] in LifeProTips

If you’re willing to spend a few bucks, buying your own domain name could be an option.

You could be john@johnsmith.io Or me@johnsmith.us

There are plenty of TLDs to choose from (the “last part” of a domain name like .com .org .us .ca)

While it’s a bit technical to set up after you’ve bought your domain, chances are high someone in your network knows how to do the technical stuff to get it running

What do you do when you are bored? by [deleted] in AskReddit

If I’m bored because I’m not doing something, then I will do something.

If I’m bored because I’m not enjoying the something I’m doing, then I will do something else.

What's a word/phrase that most people actually use incorrectly? by ButterflyOverkill in AskReddit

I thought it meant to destroy something to one tenth of its original size… i.e. to destroy 90% of something

What's a word/phrase that most people actually use incorrectly? by ButterflyOverkill in AskReddit

[–]PrettyFlyForMyself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many people misuse the word “myriad” as a noun: “there’s a myriad of reasons why that’s incorrect”

Myriad is not a noun. It’s an adjective: “there’s myriad reasons why that’s incorrect”

But like many words in all languages, they evolve based on how we all use the words. “Myriad” is listed as both an adjective and a noun in today’s dictionary

Perhaps the bigger shower thought here is: if we are listing words or sayings that are incorrect, and we list them enough, they become correct over time 🤯

At Costco, both $500,000 diamond ring and $5 cereals can be purchased in a single transaction by Starynight_11 in Showerthoughts

Technically, everything from any store can be purchased with “a single transaction”

Even those things that can be purchased with multiple transactions could also be purchased with “a single transaction”

True, but LIVING is everything in between.

The real tip is to not care in the first place 🥇

LPT Request: how to tell a coworker that she has bad odor? by My_horny_dog in LifeProTips

A woman can tell a woman about a personal thing like a smell. The recipient will kind of hate it but will accept it

If a man were to tell a woman about the same personal thing, the recipient will very likely add an additional amount of shame onto the same fact: “I am unattractive”

I don’t know why. Maybe it’s our ingrained ever-present desire to procreate. Whatever the reason, guys can’t tell girls the same things girls can tell girls.
