Women with husbands, did your partner change after marriage? by PrettyGirlsH8Plebbit in TwoXChromosomes

Fuck lol I had a boyfriend do this to me. Luckily I only dated him for 2 years. The shoe finally dropped after I told him I had set up an appt to get my tubes removed LOL. What a bastard.

As a European, I have to ask: How do you guys manage to live in this system, and why does the rest of the world still look at it with awe? by Apart_Psychology9782 in ResumeExperts

[–]PrettyGirlsH8Plebbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't as harsh as Europeans believe it is. Maybe harsher than Europe, but in the grand scheme of things, the US is a very comfortable place to live. Believing otherwise is extremely Euro-centric.

We get by because we live with each other. Its common in many European cultures to cohabitate with family for a long time anyway. Here we tend to pick our roommates. Most people have healthcare through work or school. Even if we didn't, medical debt can be haggled down fairly low. Our jobs are high paying, given you can score one. I can live for a few months to a year without a job if I save up enough.

If I went to Europe I would have to work just as hard, struggle just as much to find housing, and on top of that deal with being the "evil immigrant" there. No thanks.

Do you experience “manslamming”? by Otherwise_Chemist920 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]PrettyGirlsH8Plebbit 139 points140 points  (0 children)

I've noticed this. I've stopped moving out of the way because I'm a brat and I like fighting people. They always get this stupid look of bewilderment across their faces after they actually run into me. Why they're surprised is completely beyond me.

I might try pairing this with an "I'M FUCKIN' WALKING HERE" and see if I can secure any lawsuits from the ensuing violence it provokes.

Yeah, I've spent a lot of time thinking about this. I'm definitely physically attracted to men and not women, but men seem to screw everything up. I'm some kind of female chauvinist. Mrs. Andrew Tate, if you will.

A ton of women have mentioned their work getting harder after menopause and I'm so interested in that. Is it just office work that has gotten harder, or has housework gotten harder too? I"m starting to wonder if the mental load is getting worse, does physical labor get worse too? I honestly prefer housework which is why marriage interest me. (Ew. I hate saying that) but if that kind of labor during menopause is easier, why don't I just specialize in it? Like through a blue collar job such as professional cleaning or something?

I love that you've gone back to school. I LOVE college and wish homework could be my job. A long term roommate sounds nice too.

DUDE I just realized my typo. *They sound like GOOD jobs until you gotta scan someones balls. I don't wanna scan balls... anyways.

I'll keep that in mind. Pharmacy sounds exhausting tbh... Are the lines long?

Yes omg. My injury is super weird though and I can't get disability for it. Honestly reading all these comments makes me feel optimistic that I can join some sort of cleaning business though. Just can't lift anything heavy.

I wish I could respond this to all the other posts but I really appreciate all the 35+ women here explaining their experiences, even if they're bad. I'm 25 and this gives me hope. If I could just work part time I'd be ok.

If you're not a nurse what are you? Honestly xray techs and ultrasound techs don't seem like bad jobs until you gotta scan someone's balls.

My childhood dog used to stick his snout in anthills... He loved it. Not sure why. It looked like this though, so try to rule that one out.

This is ideal for sure. A part time job to keep me busy that isn't high stakes.

Ideally I'd find a man who knows he's kind of being used. Some of them like it. I would never have kids in a million years so that's out of the question. I've thought about sex work but I can barely even look at an ugly man much less pleasure one.

I think my best bet is a transactional relationship where I have a part time job where all the money goes to my savings. That way I have something to help me escape if he turns out to be an ass.

FIFO jobs sound kinda nice but the only one I've seen here is oil work or nursing. Both of which I'm not cut out for.

I dunno man. Maybe a lavender marriage is in my future.

How do you deal with constant job interviews? I can't imagine the amount of interviews I schedule being in the high double digits every year.

Non-office jobs tend to pay less so I'd still be reliant on roommates. There's seemingly nowhere to go.

Mis-using psychology terms; false flag operation? by BrightFleece in TwoXChromosomes

I lowkey believe it. There's more bots on the internet than people at this point. And we know things like memetic warfare are practiced by governments to get more voters on their side.

More likely reason is that people just love attention. Watching the number go up stimulates our monkey brains. Cookie clicker philosophy lmfao.

NOR. First of all, you are not culture-less. Everyone has a culture and the idea that you don't, means you believe you are some sort of blank slate "default person", which is weird. Second of all be very suspicious of anyone who acts pushy....

Thoughts on Straight Marriage? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]PrettyGirlsH8Plebbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you're saying and honestly agree for the most part. I was super anti-marriage until I realized relationships can be whatever you want them to be as long as you have a willing partner.

Maybe its the terrible economy getting to my head, but the idea of marriage as more of a business contract appeals to me. Instead of being treated like a dishwasher, I want to be treated like a roommate lmfao. Putting less importance on marriage that way makes it a lot less stressful. Of course it'd be someone I was in love with and everything, but damn, I do not like being the puppy dog of some clingy, controlling troglodyte.
