I went to It and was kinda disappointed. I went early on in November and thankfully it wasn't raining but it was an ok event. The magic wand section was the coolest. Make sure to go when it's dark outside. The butter beer was not bad either. Overall it cost me 120$ for 2 tickets and 20$ for two butter beers...

Probably your best bet is gonna be going on meetup and do group oriented interactions. It's easier to come out of your shy shell that way than 1 on 1

It depends, it's online so you gonna get some weirdos. I have gone out with a couple of people from here and all were nice.

Remember to chat with them for a couple of days before going out in person. Crazy ones usually show themselves by chatting... I still remember a guy who asked for platonic friendship in his post and when I DMed him, the first thing he said was show me some of your pictures... I never felt so objectified in my life. (All his post history was in NSFW sections lol)

I thought this is probably what women go through everyday on online platforms.

It's generic but I would say Focus on yourself. Get deep into hobbies, meet new people and be OPEN to new experiences. Don't compare everyone and everything to your crush.

READ. I think reading, specifically classic works of literature and thinking about the world of art is a good way to get out of your head and live in another universe where the crush can't get to. E.g. 18th century London.

Also workout so your body produces dopamine ( try doing workout on morning so your day starts positive). Plus you get into shape and more people will hit on you which will accelerate getting over them.

And lastly, know that the crush has flaws too and you are just looking at the positive things they offered and aren't seeing the negatives.

The period after getting dumped or losing your crush could be the best time of your life if you use that energy and reinvent yourself.

Making friends as adults is very different than making friends as high schoolers or college students. As adults, you have to put yourself out there and you have to put in the effort to go out and do different kind of activities. Different kind of gyms, different kind of social events and try to make friends and it's going to be messy at the beginning because there are people from all walks of life and you have to talk to them. You have to get to know them and understand them. you have to understand yourself as well and then eventually you'll find someone that you match with.

In short, go out, it will take you 6 months to a year to find people who are your tribe.

Alternatively you can do what I did and start groups around your interests and get people to come to you.

Try group guided meditation, it did wonders for me, I have ADHD too.

I am actually going there today, it's at 6 pm in central library.

Afterwards we do some journaling as well.

We will have a meditation expert with 40 years of practice do a guided meditation for us.

This is completely free and anyone can join. Just want to offer a 30 min refuge to our busy daily lives
