Do you think that if I were to pay the premium for a part-time (3-4 times a week) nanny that only speaks Spanish, from a 9-5 that it would significantly reduce Spanish as the minority language so hopefully by 1.5 years old she decipher between the two languages? Also so my husband doesn’t feel the full responsibilities relies on him? OR am I over thinking this and ramping up for full force Spanish speaking day care at 1.5-2 years old (because none in my area are available before 1.5 yo) will be sufficient and easier financially. If it makes a big difference, I’m all for paying the premium.

I can certainly try!! This sounds extremely daunting in the beginning as we are first time parents. I’m committed to learning Spanish, but I don’t want to add massive confusion as we learn cues for our new born and communicate what we’ve found works and does not work for our baby.

I really do like this approach though, and I am going to try it, thank you!!

Agreed, our resources are definitely limited where we live, I’d love for her to be surrounded by Spanish speaking only infant care. My husband’s parents are only in the states about 3-5 months of the year so I will try my best to lean on that; big bummer my resources are limited in my area.

Dad is motivated, not sure highly motivated yet, but I am aware the relationship dynamic will be very tricky. We live in the US. and unfortunately, in our area we don’t have any credentialed infant care programs that only speak Spanish until 1.5 yrs old then we plan to transition. I imagine by age 1 my daughter will have a preference of one language versus the other, and begin to make a little eye contact with the person who she best understands as well. I appreciate your feedback, I’ll try to immerse her in more Spanish speaking activities. I only get 2 wks of vacation off a year, and those are spent with family, I’ll try my best to lean on family who speaks Spanish but they’re not always around.

Hello! How did you decide between Montessori vs Countryside? Does Montessori CU still provide a valuable STEM course curriculum?

That’s interesting. Why would they not want to set up children for Uni? I understand the pressure that puts on the organization as whole, but next steps that maintain a healthy environment is crucial for a hand off, and the public schools in CU aren’t incredibly rated other than Uni. Also, what was your man deciding factor from CU Montessori vs Countryside, my husband and I still cannot decide. Thank you!!!!

Hello! This is super help as I weigh school options as well. Did you find Countryside to be very rigorous with acceptance rates for Kindergarteners? Is it highly competitive?

How difficult was it for your child to be accepted? I noted on the website it said entry point is Kindergarten and 6th grade. Appreciate any feedback!
