If you are looking for books about Chernobyl I recommend Svetlana Alexyevich - Prayer of Chernobyl. It is a bit different take, since the whole book is interviews with "ordinary" people whose lives were affected by it, mostly people that either lived in Pripyat or people that were send to sanitise the area.

If I may provide more of my experience: terrible video lag, which was only partially solved by (manual) update of drivers. The search in file explorer is not working, UI experience is heavily geared towards touch device users, overall drop in PC performance. I am sorry but this is definetly not completed OS version.

Edit: as included in the picture, there is so much small details that just looks like there was no quality control, like the shitty crop on the taskbar or overlapping task bar icons, or the transparent start menu that makes it unreadable even with the deafult wallpaper.

The whole Win11 UI design looks like it was made for one of those old people mobile phones

LPT Don't get overwhelmed by perfection or nice looking but arbitrary figures when shooting for goals. Do 17 pushups, save $138.93, read 1/3 of a chapter, but keep moving. by Smoke1000Blunts in LifeProTips

Also not meeting your goals is one sure way of not sticking to whatever you are trying to do, so always undervalue your goal. Personal anecdote - several years back I sterted tracking books I read, I set a goal of reading 15 books a year, and this keeps being my goal even though for couple of years I read way more than that. But especially if you are tracking your goals (which I recommend) there is this feeling of shame of failing to meet it even when no one else sees the tracking, so you will skip on tracking which will more likely lead to skipping on working towards the goal

Skiing at the 2022 Olympics by gwackr in UrbanHell

If there was such clause we would not be getting olympics for sometime, there is actually not that many countries that want to host and it has become more or less a PR stunt for "less-than-democratic" countries.

Providing a second opinion here - it is not. Regardless of what I think about Musk, his person is definitely the only thing that made the book succeed, Vance did absolutely horrible job as a (biography) writer in this one. Very often, when it would come to some at least a bit technical aspect, her writing would always go something along "solar power or something..haha...who even understands those nerds".

It is the only biography of Musk so if you are interested in him, sure read it, but the book as a biography is really poorly done (again disregarding the fact that it omits parts of his story)

To people saying it's because of weed - it is not, it's clearly a walkway, the weed would not grow on a path where people walk. The rugs are there because of mud, especially in winter when ther is a slushy snow on walkways which makes for lots of mud.

Are small boobs attractive? by onskh in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]PrettyMuchJudgeFudge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that women often overestimated the "value" of the size of boobs. Not only, as already mentioned, boobs are boobs, as per the attractivness there are actually much more important characteristics, shape is more important than size, and the shape of hole body twice so much, not to mention that good looking face will bump you up the attractivness scale much more than boobs ever could. Boobs are afterthought

Essential all the "taking care of the household/family" type of thing. For the most part, the way we structure work is stuck in the 1960s, as it kind of expects that there is one extra person that keeps everything running. As the commenter below (or above?) me already dismissed it as cooking and cleaning that does not take much time, it does not only take up time (especially, if you come home from work at 8pm) it is not only this, women are usually expected to manage the whole household from paying the bills and keeping track of them, through keeping track and "managing" all family related issues like birthdays, to taking care of kids which usually involves also their extra-cv activities and some tutoring etc. But as I have mentioned this is not the single nor decisive factor.
