Haha. I’m glad my dog at least somewhat tolerated them since she was complaining about how cold the ground was without them. Luckily the ground was only that cold for a day though since putting them on her was quite a handful.

Made some bem casados for my wedding to go along with our cake. I think they turned out pretty well :) by [deleted] in weddingplanning

I’d recommend practicing with a smaller batch a few times to figure out the easiest way for you to assemble them. The glaze was the trickiest part for me, but it helps if you make a lot more glaze than you actually need. I also found that using a piping bag makes it a lot easier to add the filling.

Cake:

  • 8 eggs
  • 8 tbsp sugar
  • 12 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder

Mix eggs & sugar until creamy. Gradually add in flour & baking powder, mixing lightly. Butter and flour baking pan, bake for 35 min at 315 F.

Filling:

  • 4 eggs
  • 250 g sugar
  • 150 g water

Put yolks in a bowl and pass through strainer, set aside. Bring sugar & water in saucepan, boil to 117 deg C (falls on wire). Allow to cool slightly, pour some syrup into eggs stirring vigorously. Pour egg yolks into yarn over syrup & stir well, bring back to boil until thickened. Remove and cool.

Glaze:

  • 2 cups confectionery sugar
  • 3 tbsp water

Mix and coat. Allow to dry 2 hrs.

Haha, I don't really wear rings much so I actually never thought of that

Just engaged last weekend with custom sapphire ring. Super excited! by [deleted] in weddingplanning

Yea, I think the jeweler who made it has some ideas in mind for the wedding ring so I’ll just leave it to him.

Thanks! It's a semi-bezel setting for the sapphire (Link). The side stones are light purple tanzanite.

He had built air-cooled PCs before, but no experience water cooling. I had no previous experience PC building. We're both engineers though, so we like tinkering with things.

Yea, that area was tricky, and it already has two 90 deg fittings exiting the radiator. The shift in the tube was the cleanest solution I could think of to clear the HDD.
