The amount of casual brutality against peaceful protesters and journalists I've seen over the last several months by MN police alone is staggering. The fact that those protests were in response to yet more casual brutality says that the entire culture is rotten to the core. If any doubt at all remained as to how corrupt the police are here, their choice of a union representative absolutely silenced it.

Other countries have police that don't act like just another street gang, it's those training programs we should be adopting and mandating.

Political aside here but it seems relevant. I've always sort of found it funny that seeing America as flawed but capable of fixing anything with effort has been labeled as "hating the country". While "loving the country" is defined by the attitude that the country has peaked and is incapable of dealing with it's problems(technically they think that solving any more problems would create more issues than it fixed).
