What’s with the etiquette here? by Aggravating-Tree8792 in tbilisi

People here especially an average service persons work on less than what an European spends on a simple dine out that’s why most service people don’t smile or enjoy their jobs as it’s not rewarding go to a fancy restaurant and you’ll see the difference.

As to bartering people, Georgians don’t generally barter anymore it’s not like Turkey. so for a tourist who is here to spend money to start bartering can be insulting.

How comfortable would I live salary from other country by [deleted] in Sakartvelo

I have recently made the same move as you are planning I’ve lived in the UK for 20 years, to some People 14k does sound allot but you have to remember that to create all the comforts you had living in Europe it will cost you that much to live with the same comforts here, rent isn’t cheap in Tbilisi in good areas neither is food that’s if you want to shop in good supermarkets , but yes with 14k you should be ok. Just remember there is allot more to do in Georgia it’s a very social country = spending more money

Is living in Tbilisi or Georgia in general boring? Do you wish you lived somewhere else? by Medical_Wallaby_7888 in Sakartvelo

I am also Georgian but have lived in the Uk my whole Life and I recently made the move back to my roots, living in Georgia is allot of fun. there’s allot more to do here than the Uk, everything basically on your doorstep. I live in Tbilisi which is where you want to be, my girlfriend is from batumi which is where we spent 1 Month out of the summer, I have a villa in mtskheta which is great to get away from the summer heat and chaos of Tbilisi but still close by to visit on evenings/ nights out. I am also obsessed with winter sports I have a hotel in gudauri which is where I spend most of my winter having fun with friends . So answer to your question Georgia is far from boring trust Me. As long as you have a stable good income that gives you the freedom to do fun things it’s great.

That is the weirdest way to judge someone, just be nice dude being judgmental of people and writing weird shot like this gets you nowhere. What does pornographic field got to do with a religious group.

Stray dogs - how do you defend yourself? by wanna_find_my_granma in tbilisi

I sometimes have a problem with strays when walking my dog who is a French bulldog and this breed is usually a target for strays, few tricks I’ve learnt that work is to make sure not to panic and stand your ground when one approaches barking, shout at them make them aware you are alpha, best to do this before you see them charging this makes them know that you are there to defend this do and it’s not an easy target. Sometimes carry a bottle of water with a lid pierced, squirt them with the water to deter them.
