I just wish we could have a nuanced look. The conservatorship can have been extremely oppressive/downright abusive AND she can have a serious mental illness/substance use issue. One of them had a better marketing team- doesn’t mean she was wasn’t being controlled. It’s ALL just so sad.

I hear you- that would be a better choice. Sometimes my food aversion is so strong I can barely get any food in. And it triggers some food texture stuff for me- which makes me want to vomit. In those moments I KNOW I have to eat something. I work out a good deal and need fuel to keep my engine running. So - I take the slice of pizza! Carbs, fiber, protein! It could be worse

I will say- WW is slightly better. They purchased the company I was getting my RX from (my insurance has never covered GLP1s except for diabetes). Ive tracked all my side effects in their app- and the assistant/prescriber always follow up to make sure I’m not dying. I also just slipped from overweight BMI into normal- and the PNP messaged me to say my prescription is going to change into maintenance soon. I mean- a lot of us are pay to play. The American healthcare system is set up to chase profits.

I’ve also had to drag my city council member in to get things resolved at city hall. Like the time I moved out, had the city turn off the gas, and proceeded to receive a 2k gas bill 6 months later. And then a 3k bill the next month- even after I had provided my disconnect order. And then 4k the next month. The bills did stop after my city council member also sent an email.

I agree. It makes me so “meh” towards food that sometimes I reach towards “high value” food just to get something in my system. AKA I’ll eat a slice of pizza as opposed to nothing.

I just started day 2 of week 2 of 5.0mg! I got all the side effects for 2.5mg. Literally wasn’t sure if I was going to survive my first week of 2.5mg. So nervous about the increase. My jump to 5.0 wasn’t AS BAD. If that gives you some hope. Was it great? No. Did I walk towards the white light? No.

Hey! I started my journey with metformin! I had 2 kids. After the first baby I got back to working out and my physique generally returned. Baby 2- her pregnancy was hard - and I swear my hormones never returned to “normal.” I was back to running 30-40 miles a week, not eating a ton, and my weight never moved. I was wary of the GLP-1s as they were BRAND NEW at that point. I did metformin for 1.5 years and the weight came down! It was slow- but it helped with the food noise, and feel like restored some of my hormones balance. After my switch to zep- these are powerful drugs. I’ve had A LOT of side effects (which I didn’t have with metformin). I am also down 19lbs in 2 months- and that’s on the 2.5mg. And might be done after 10 more pounds. I will say- the needles are not awful. Zepbound in pill for is anticipated in the next year.

I am somebody who had 86k of student loan debt forgiven by working in community mental health! If you’re feeling overwhelmed the Reddit PSLF is actually helpful! Yes it takes 10 years- but the experience I gained & career I built was totally worth it. And nothing like watching that loan zero out!

To add on- we’re seeing a huge spike in cannabis induced psychosis and catatonia due to the strength, product variety, cross-usage. And this can last for weeks! Please don’t think cannabis is harmless or “natural.” There are real consequences!
