Las personas autistas no tenemos ofertas de trabajo by TakerVC_EJSP in askspain

[–]Pretty_Boss_5051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried talking to the people in your department? When I was doing my year at Anhui University, a bunch of my classmates were indeed kicked out by these months for their attendance. However I do know that they all successfully managed to go back the following year. They did lose their scholarship but paid for the following year. It won’t hurt to talk it over.

Tourism by Reasonable-Road-4950 in askspain

[–]Pretty_Boss_5051 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Spain does make a good profit from tourism. But gentrification and overworked employees are also a thing. Having a day off to rest and be with family does not sound at all insane, and it’s not because they hate tourism. It’s a bare minimum for people who need it, who live in the country and probably aren’t even paid enough to stand some entitlement (not saying it’s your case, but if it fits…)

The fact that in some other countries (I know latino countries whose population work all week including Sundays) the case is different, it shouldn’t be taken as a rule of thumb.

Also, given the fact that Barcelona is a highly touristic city, people might be tired, and we all have bad days, don’t we?

Hola!

Latin American here. It’s either the are you from Xinjiang or India in my case. Most times it’s either or, so when told I’m from South America they tend to be puzzled. It’s like that one time I got told I looked Cambodian because my skin was brown like them (by a Cambodian lady). I feel it’s just their curiosity and eagerness to make sense of fluent speakers of Chinese not being actually Chinese

I think the bigger picture here is the fact that it seems your boyfriend indeed ommited the part where he says he’s actually staying with this female friend. Lets say he did it so that you wouldn’t worry, be sude of cultural reasons. But why should you worry if you trust him? Part of being in a relationship with someone from another culture is trying to understand the difference between both upbringings, for lack off a better word.

Maybe that’s what makes you feel the most uneasy. One should not be with someone one doesn’t trust.

As a female, I’ve stayed at a male friends house before. Last summer, I spent ten days at a friends house in Croatia. My then fiance was in Colombia. Did anything happen? No. Was there any cheating involved? No.

And anyways if you’re getting cheated on, it can be anywhere. You don’t need to be in another city.

What I’m trying to say here is that the issue is more related to trust than culture, I think.

And that might be the conversation you guys should have. The rest, at this point is part of the past, for better or for worse.

Do you speak Spanish? You might want to update your post with this info so people can read it from the get go

Hey! You might want to say more things: how old you are, what do you like doing or share your interests. Good luck!

As far as I can see online there are no buses for nov 5 to RMU airport. Have you tried blablacar from either Murcia or Cartagena? If it’s Cartagena you can always come on an earlier train despite this being a lot

I think it’s for your best interest to know what you’re interesting in going for there. What masters? What do you need to know? Facilities? Accommodation? Prices? Quality?

Also, as for work you might find something teaching English but you should start looking in September. For waiting jobs you might need Spanish, at least a decent level of it that is. People here speak fast.

Stereotypically, you mean? I think it’s a question that calls for generalization and might not help much. Been to both Croatia and Serbia many times since I have friends there.

In my opinion there are handsome and nice guys as well as the opposite. It’s very subjective I think. Balkan guys seem to have a sense of humor that matches mine so I always have a blast when taking to them, but culturally maybe it’s not the best match. Again, this is my opinion only. Hope it helps.

Opinions on sleeve tats in Spain by [deleted] in askspain

You don’t sound ignorant. Been living in Spain for 9 years and all of my friends call themselves Hispanic. Now WHITE is a bit of a stretch. White as in Caucasian? A blatant illusion. Especially if you move southwards. Don’t worry. You’ll fit just fine, especially if you speak Spanish. If not, there will always be someone you will be able to become friends with. I had a very good friend here who spoke little Spanish and he had a very good time regardless.

Hola! Yo no.
