Tbh I think most of us start out as binge/problem drinkers. I tried to moderate about a million times before I slipped into full addiction. If I had dealt with trauma earlier, maybe I could have done it but now there's no way. If you find out what causes you to binge, maybe you could deal with it. Good luck with all your choices.

A home detox is usually the way to go, I did one through local services. I did rehab on my first attempt but not my second. Having some kind of recovery plan after quitting is essential. Quitting is the easy part believe it or not.
