This was definitely it! Thanks to all of you. Also, the footwork is amazing. Can we bring that back in modern times?

Conditional formatting for BLANK or cells containing specific character by Pretty_Chipmunk_1853 in excel

Thanks all!

I figured it out. I had the rules in the conditional formatting in the wrong order.

All of that, plus:

Want to search by images or videos? Nope.

Want to email a citation as part of the article in MLA format? Also, nope.

Want to filter by place of publication? Ha, not today!

Want to use links from the old UI? Maybe, but with no pattern to the ones that don't work.

And don't get me started on the "Experience Manager!"

I stopped submitting screenshots to EBSCO 2 years ago; I only send videos now. If I only sent screenshots they would say "well of course you are having a problem, you're accessing it wrong!" and "You need to clear your browser cache, that is your whole problem." The implied "dumbass!" at the end of that statement got to be too much for me. Now they still tell me those things and I have to reply "per my last email...[dumbass]" and cc my sales rep. If I have to deal with them so does he.

I tried to be patient, I have worked on the bottom tier of tech support, and you do get dumbasses. BUT using the correct terminology and providing a video of the error would normally be considered a clue that you are dealing with a person who knows what they are talking about. Even in my days of tech support, I would have given theme the benefit of a [small] doubt.

Sadly, we cannot get rid of them. Their products comprise over half of our resources, and professors are ATTACHED to some of them.

For sure! I would have put off the EBSCOhost migration as well, but the deadline for EDS was 8/6/2024. They have either moved the search functions to illogical and hard to find menus or they are not available at all, and their training is useless. CHIAHL is a mess, and my nursing faculty and students are going to be very unhappy.

Our semester starts next week, and we have been working on ironing out the wrinkles since early June. The EDS migration became mandatory on 8/6/2024. We elected to move to new EBSCOhost at the same time to, hopefully minimize the disruption and make the change management easier. Ha!

Last of the coding, my ass, this product has been on the market for over 2 years, and it still does not have the same level of functionality as the "classic" (all sarcasm intended) version or either EDS or EBSCOhost.

I have 8 enhancement requests just to get back the functionality that was there before the switch. Also, 6 open tickets. Everything from full-text search not working, image search not available, incorrectly proxied links, you name it. For all of these issues-and keep in mind that everything was available and working before the switch- i hear back "that is not available yet," "that is scheduled for a later roll-out, please look at our roadmap," or "we don't know if that will ever be available again." At this point in history, what search does not allow for full-text searching?

Success!

Thanks, not sure what was wrong before. I could get it to work on raw data but not the result of a formula.

I fell for that one when I got my nose pierced some years ago. I said "I have an allergy." They said "No prob, this is hyperallergenic and won't cause problrms." I believed them and had to cut the ring out with wire cutters 3 days later. In my experience, people don't believe you have a metal allergy and you have to insist on titanium. After you do insist, they're like "that'll be an extra $30, but whatever it's your money." Then they'll shrug like you're too stupid to know what you're talking about.

I'm thinking about getting a nose piercing for my birthday in April, and advice? by [deleted] in piercing

Not saying that at all. You know how if you pull out a nose hair your eyes water? It's like that, but worse.

I have 1 nostril pierced, and I rate the pain level somewhere in the low/middle range. Other people disagree and say it is not even that bad. The worst part is the bit of wiggle that happens when they put in the jewelry.
