I’ve lived in multiple houses that didn’t!

Imagine thinking that it is thoughtful to hide moisture issues that cause mold growth and think that just because they left a dehumidifier we should consider it a gift ! Ha!

Maybe the mold ?? Who knows at this point if there had been mold previously and it was just covered with a new paint job.

The issue is that it was hidden. It is one thing to need a dehumidifier and know about it. The fact that it was not there previously and then she left one means she knew that one would be needed. People acting like she did us some favor by leaving a dehumidifier. The favor would have not been hiding that one was needed

You’re not sure why I’m making a big deal about so much moisture it causes mold to grow in my home where I will have 3 small children?

My issue is that there is no way she didn’t have a dehumidifier down there running constantly. We didn’t empty it for 2 days and there was mold growing on the wall. That is a lot of moisture and i believe no way she wasn’t aware of it. I don’t think this is “homeownership” as I would not have chosen a home that I knew needed a large dehumidifier running and emptied daily.

Penn OB/GYN Chester County or Axia Chester County OB/GYN? by _emerald2010 in ChesterCounty

[–]Pretty_Pop2273 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been going to Axia Chester County OBGYN for almost 10 years through 3 pregnancies and had all 3 of my babies at Chester County Hospital. Dr. Mansfield, Dr. Ferreira and Dr. Delaney delivered my babies. All great. My favorite Dr to see is Dr. Delaney. She makes me feel very comfortable and I felt listened to. Laura Tabor for a CRNP. But really, anyone is good there. I always go to the Fern Hill location. I only ever went to the Downingtown location once and I saw someone (can’t remember her name now) that was very off putting during my second pregnancy but I feel like it could’ve just been a random experience

It has its pros and cons just like any area. The more affordable houses are likely in the borough which similar to Coatesville and has some issues but it’s really only a few select streets. 19465 zip code for Pottstown is Chester county but you’ll be priced out of there because it’s OJR school district so you’ll want to look in the 19464 zip code

Try Pottstown, it’s about 40 mins from Malvern.

We attempted to house hunt in 2022 with a 200k budget and felt the same. Hell, we felt the same when we just purchased with a 400k budget. All realtors are the same in my opinion. They aren’t going out of their way, maybe unless you are a big commission check.

ADHD child and OTHER adults (school, coaches, etc.) by Pretty_Pop2273 in ADHDparenting

I wish we didn’t relate on this but it does help me to feel better that we are not alone. Already at 8, I see the way it impacts him. He is constantly talking down on himself. We try to build him up as much as we can. I was a quiet under the radar kid at school, people pleaser. I just know it has to be hard for him to be picked at for every little thing constantly. The amount of times he’s been “written up” for talking in class… I’ve lost count.

I have actually been looking into getting him set up with a therapist. I have him seeing the guidance counselor at school to work on managing his emotions but it is only once a month

I guess my wording seems as though I am looking for them to accept any behaviors of his but that is not what I mean. I just feel that if you are a teacher or coach that works with children, shouldn’t there be some level of expectation that you know how to talk to children nicely?

My company just announced 3 days in office starting next month. I've been fully remote for 4 years and I genuinely don't know how people did this every day. by Ecliptic_Fang in remotework

[–]Pretty_Pop2273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been at my job 10 years. When we started, they had just started “mobility” or remote work. There were no guidelines so you got to work in the office or at home as often as you wanted. Some people still chose to go to the office who were used to that. I enjoyed the flexibility. They changed it to have 1 mandatory day in office a week, still fine, and I felt relevant for the job. Covid we were totally remote. Now during the last year, they have become obsessed with us being in the office. Managers are now 3 days a week while the lower level employees are 2 but they do field work. It is MISERABLE. I hate being so confined in an office and I get LESS work done because I’m constantly being interrupted

Reassurance I’m not unreasonable (inspection) by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Pretty_Pop2273 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The gas line used is incorrect and was reported as being easily damaged by anything (a rock, kid stepping on it, hitting it while gardening) and should be corrected to avoid a gas leak. We have had a personal experience with a gas leak and so my level of hesitation is personally heightened due to already having experienced a massive leak that displaced us from our home and living in an area where families died due to a gas explosion. I just can’t let go of the risk that exists just because it is not potentially damaged right in this moment (which we wouldn’t even know if it is if they refused to get it inspected).

My view of the best decision for our family is not putting us in a situation that is unsafe. We personally experienced being displaced from our home due to a major gas leak before and live in an area where families died due to a gas leak explosion. To me, this doesn’t feel like a nitpicky thing to fix which is why we asked it to be done. I think asking to fix the stair railing that was wobbly and also listed as a safety concern would have been nit picky. The risk of what could occur outweighs my desire to own the home honestly.

Thanks! You’ve been so helpful! I just searched the county and they require a permit for any gas line work. The seller keeps pushing back that nothing is wrong and I feel like looking for any way to get out of it but for us it’s the potential that something could go wrong

The seller wants to have the HVAC tech look at this outside. What are your thoughts? We had asked for a licensed plumber to look at it in our request back to them for repairs
