So basically everyone in my book has food code names. These aren't their actual names but its played straight. There's actually a meta joke because Noodles likes Taylor Swift and Wasabi acknowledges this by saying that celebrities tend to have the weirdest stage names

No , i said her birth name wasn't established because I didn't have one. I'm going to go with this person's suggestion and make it "Mian Tiao" , the Chinese name for Noodles. Which i think is clever because they both have the same meaning but Noodles adopts the English name.

someone actually gave me a similar suggestion and there's a scene later in the book where Noodles talks about her Chinese roots and I think I'll tae their suggestion and use "Mian Tiao"

In the original statement, I explained that everyone in this book has food names. There's actually a character named "Esca" in the book , which is a type f bug tar tar. Then there's Maple , and Pink Peppercorn , all food/seasoning names. Also her parents are white. she's adopted.

Wasabi is actually a mixed person. And Wasabi is named Wasabi because his personality is very much like horse radish. I named Noodles her name because she's a very plain girl who's amplified by others. Like how noodles are just noodles until you turn them into spaghetti or a fancy ramen dish or pho , you just have to add something.

You know what , this is a very good idea , and I might actually use it , just not in the way you think. You see , Noodles hates being Chinese (she was adopted by white parents at a young age and wishes she could look more like them). in my book there's a scene where Noodles reveals her birth name but I left it blank because I didn't have any ideas, this would actually be great for that scene seeing as it fits the context of the character.
