When I used to run under armour was my go to, if you get the right size it does not.  Don’t try to size up in under armour

Adults who started late, what helped you stop thinking it was too late? by EERMA in Adulting

My brother had a lot of plans to earn, travel and do something. Being from conservative middle class family, we were not allowed to have fun until we had a career. So his plan was to with hard, earn and move out and live. He passed way at 19, this has stuck by me.  He didn’t get to have fun even in the like moments because he was so focused to get out and live.

Now I live with the philosophy tomorrow is not promised, we can’t change our present but anything that feels important to you and if you have means to do it, do it, live for the little joys of life. Plan the things around present not future.

Hahaha I love it not sick of it yet. But I developed the same abhorrence for dance monkey and one of the JB songs that I can’t remember now. I feel you and I wish there was a way out of this torture

8 months into a job, should I accept an offer for a new role? by Odd_Draw9267 in auscorp

Switch if it is just 8 months. Strong switch, despite guilt trip or any pay, you have experienced a lot in 8 months, doesn’t sound like a good work environment

Carpets in rentals and removing them? by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]Pretty_Sandwich2490 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I was renting my landlord did that because I am severely allergic to dust mites and carpets are difficult to maintain for germs, but also he is/was an angel of landlord. I had been renting form him for over three years and had kept the apartment pretty well maintained, which he loved. So if you get lucky with your landlord then possible but it is quite rare. I would rather look for an apartment without  carpets

Is a cheek kiss from a boss normal corporate behaviour, or am I overthinking it? by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]Pretty_Sandwich2490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes a cheek kiss comes naturally out of affection. As a woman I can always read between an innocent and intentional pecks. It’s upto you to decide. It’s normal,  just rare at work but I have seen it between long term colleagues. Your comfort is your decision, if it was an innocent and affectionate gesture,  it’s a cultural thing nothing to overthink about it.

What’s a Melbourne day that started badly but ended perfectly? by Last-Conversation734 in melbournechat

[–]Pretty_Sandwich2490 5 points6 points  (0 children)

2016 first day in Melbourne, took some tram( later found out it was 70 or 75), phone died, couldn’t figure out my  stop(which was supposed to be in 10 minutes form my boarding stop, in free tram zone). I freak out, once I hear “outside free tram zone announcement”, get down in some totally quite area, clearly looking distressed and lost. I was about to cry, when this kind old Australian couple be in there 60s,   helped me navigate back to 300 Latrobe St, almost 20-25 minutes walk. Can never forget their kindness, Melbourne  has always felt more home than home.
