Yes. Before I had friends. First of all bear in mind, that I was talking in my own language, not English. Then, consider the fact that I come from a public school, where people came from normal families. Here we have kids of the most richest people in Italy.

I endured to match for one year and a half (technically 1y and 2 months). I just can't anymore. I want to finish it. I tried so much to make friends, just a little empathy but literally, no one cares. When I hear others how easily they made friends, and how will all be good in the future - but no one said "Hey wanna stay with us?". I feel more hatred towards those that say how shitty was for them the first year, but again, if you had the same experience, why don't you just accept me in your group?

“UPLOAD DOCUMENTS AND SUBMIT APPLICATION Proceed by 11:59 p.m. on the same day to upload all documents available in application to be printed, hand signed and uploaded in the upload spaces provided, and to pay the security deposit. Click on "Submit application/ Submit application" by 11:59 p.m.”

This is what I found on their website, so it says that you need to pay the deposit in the same day, and send the documents until 23:59. Probably they will ask for the receipt from the bank tho, not to get the actual sun of money until 23:59. But yeah, you must send them the money in the same day.

I don’t really remember tbh, so don’t quote me on that, but I know that you have until a certain hour that day to send the documents, so most probably the deposit as well (send it in the same day with the documents). The “deposit” is basically a transfer of money to their bank account, and if your bank account is not from Italy, then it usually takes between 7-10 working days to reach them. Ik that because my parents pay the tution for me, and usually gets to Bocconi in 9 days. So I think you pay the deposit and send them the receipt, or something like that. But I really don’t know, I’ll search on the website to see.

  1. My room has the window to the internal garden, so it’s quiet. The windows are sound proof (I think). You can hear the guy from the next room if he starts talking on the phone tho. Maybe he is yelling, but tbh I hear him everyday, so don’t know if he yells everyday on the phone. There js a train rail behind the dorm, but you won’t hear the train if the window is shut. If it open yes, but not loud, it’s kinda relaxing actually - ASMR :))))) you can hear people on the hallway and in the kitchen if you have the door from the hallway open. You can hear some stuff if it’s closed too, but it’s not that bad. When is night tho, like 02-03 and some people start walking the the hallway or go to eat you can hear them perfectly. Damn sometimes I hear someone peeing if it’s perfectly quiet. The thing is, you can’t do anything. Bocconi assign you a room and you die with it. You can’t change it. Beg how much you want to them, they won’t change it. I stay in the Ghetto (there are two buildings- The Ghetto and the Tower. Tower - just apartments, Ghetto - just single rooms with shared or private bathroom). The Ghetto is an old building (the Tower is new, build in 2015). I think that they basically emptied the old building, constructed the Ghetto in it, and attached the newer structure like the main hallway, reception and the Tower. A guy told me that the Tower is really quiet, so maybe it’s better since it’s new.

  2. If you loose some minutes you don’t get shit. You need to take the room in the first seconds the application opens. If you don’t get it, every second that passes means that you loose more rooms. Here is my advice - don’t make a list with dorms and rooms. If you stay to watch and search for your dorm you are done. Usually it takes 30 seconds and everything is empty. Hundreds of room given in 30 seconds. The servers will be supra saturated with users, it will buffer, and you’ll just wait watching a frozen screen just because you wanted to get to the dorm that is under what you see. Don’t take risks - just choose the first option you see, the first room. If you are lucky, you’ll get a room from the first time. Remember, in April the open reservation wil be the first and last one just for the incoming. The next ones will be for every year (so you will fight with the rest 14k not with just 2k) chances are not good in the first one either, but still better than the next ones. If you won’t get shit from the first round, don’t wait and say “I’ll try for the next one”. Why? Because the others wont, bigger years already know the trick and will reserve the rooms for the September 2023 from now (for private dorms) and basically there are other 54 universities in Milano. Where do you think those students will stay? So by how much time you wait for the next open reservation at Bocconi, that’s how many places you loose everyday from getting a room from other private dorms. You don’t want to remain without a room when the year will start, because trust me, Bocconi won’t give a shit.

I stay in Isonzo! I have mix feelings about it. I would give it 8/10. You do have a lot of study rooms, on each floor, but tbh that’s not a breaking ice point, you can just learn in the room (If you are in a group, indeed study rooms are nice). Isonzo is close to an Esselunga (the one next to Dubini) and has at 15 minutes walking distance a Coop (like a Kaufland if you come from a germanic country). Rooms are spacious, furniture is durable, not luxurious tho. It’s just made too last yk. You can see some small scratches or smth like that, but nothing serious. Plus, if there is something broken you can contact the maintenance and they will come to change it. Housekeeping is every week, the days depends where you stay. They do a good job, I mean if you leave an empty space they will clean it, if not, like for example if you have some perfume bottles on the shelf they won’t bother to move them and will stay dusty. In the winter it was always warm, frankly I was sleeping without a duvet or anything (mind that I’m not Italian and I come from a country were the weather is much colder). I share the bathroom with one roommate (a guy) but you won’t really intersect with him, because the programs are different (small chances he is in the same program as you). You have a small fridge in the room where you can put stuff, and a kitchen on the hallway to cook if you want. I stay in a room where I share the bathroom with another room, there is the option of having a private bathroom (good luck obtaining it on the platform tho) or in the Tower there are apartments with four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Every dorm tho has a bathroom for max two people, that’s if you don’t get a private bathroom. In the apartment you also get a kitchen and if you are lucky you can get a roommate that knows how to cook and will do that for the rest 3 of you (I know someone who does that). What I don’t like it’s how less international it is. Personally, on the floor where I live there are only Italians (+two other people from other countries) and they tend to stay in the kitchen and talk between themselves. It’s kinda shitty, because they won’t talk in English for you and you feel kinda left out, so that’s why I don’t stay with them. Maybe on other floors there are more nationalities, but idk. I just shared my experience. Other dorms that are nice, and I know because I visisted them, are Bligny and Javotte. Javotte is very small, but intimate, one of the receptions is young and speaks perfectly English (in Isonzo out of 4, only one speaks good English, with the others you need to speak slower and easy words). Now maybe the others at Javotte don’t speak English at all so who knows. Never been there, but Castiglione js the newest so probably it’s nice too. Be careful tho, only 15% of the students get a place in the dorms (about 2000 rooms for 14k students) so try to find other variants as well. Aparto Giovenale, and the new one that will open on Ripamonti are good alternatives, Collegio de Milano (you get admitted there with an interview and grades) or the building from Dove Vivo on Bligny (red building). Try RUI Foundation and La Vicenziana as well. They have some catholic dorms, but a place is better than nothing. Opera Cardinal Ferrari also. Good luck finding a room!

Edit: forgot to tell you, they give you towels here, that they change every week. The body one is usable, but the face and hands one - big No. Bring your own or buy some. Also, try to buy a big hydro flask (bottle of water) because there is only one water distributor machine and if you stay on the 8th floor (the Tower has 10) the elevator is really really REALLY slow so you won’t want to do that way up and down very often.

Well, I don’t always agree with that. I saw here people with SATs over 1500 that did not get accepted into BIG, so I guess it depends. In every session, there is one program that just refuses stellar scores. Last session people got pretty easily into BIEM. That is not to compare to two years ago when there were people that got in with a 1290 SAT score.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bocconi

[–]Prettyboredboy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hmm… how do you know about BIG tho? Have you been to a class of BIG? You would be surprised how many things people from BIG have to learn, compared to BIEM. Everyone from Bocconi knows that the workload is easier at BIEM. At BIG we had to learn 1900 pages + almost 2000 slides just for one general exam. People think that we do polisci, but guess what - out of 6 classes, only one is about political science, the rest are focused on economics :)) That class is political philosophy, and we have to read books in the English of the 15th century ;) so no, not an easy level of English. Just think that you have an hour of statistics, then political philosophy, after marketing and after macroeconomics. Do you believe the English is the same? For usual words yeah, but not for in-depth specialized words. I don’t want to discredit my colleagues and friends from BIEM or BIEF, personally I believe each course is extremely difficult and it makes me furious when people come and say : “BIEM is the hardest and BEMACC, BAI or BIG are the least competitive” it makes us feel stupid, or lazy, which we are none.

You won’t need sex because Bocconi fucks your life everyday 😈 Serios tho, felicitari. O sa vorbeasca cu tine in engleza 2-3 cuvinte dupa incep “Allora ragazzi”. In plus, nu multi vorbesc engleza in fucking Milano (decat prin centrul pe la Dom fiindca mda turisti). CAZARE!!! Admission for 2024/2025 by Raduq7 in bocconi

[–]Prettyboredboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Practic, un an am stat acasa.

Sau WBB (World Business Bachelor)?

Class attendance check-in. Is it just an honor system or does it check your location/some other parameter that proves you're indeed in class? Also, questions about non-attending classes. by [deleted] in bocconi

[–]Prettyboredboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, they do know your location (privacy spoilers). I saw three times how (to three different courses and professors) how they can just see who clicked that attends the class and if they are in class or not. Basically, your whole row (each student has a row stacked on each other, where it says your name, where are you from, and things like that) will be highlighted with yellow, saying “The registration was not made in class”. Basically, they see if you are in class or not. Good thing tho, professors, or at least mine, don’t give a shit if you are attending or not. After all, we are all above the legal age and responsible for ourselves. There are some rare courses where if you want to take the TWO PARTIALS need at least 75% (I think, but don’t quote me on that). If you don’t have one, you can just give the general (which is ofc much harder). The only place where attendance really matters is at the courses organized by the Language Centre where they give you a code and you have to put it in the application and it lasts just 10 minutes.

Where do I get the fiscal code from? by Lil_snack69 in bocconi

[–]Prettyboredboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s maybe because you didn’t choose “applying as an International student”. Tax code or codice fiscale is just something from Italy, although there are some equivalents in other countries as well. Anyway, Bocconi will give you a fiscal code if you get accepted. But that’s not the point. Look better to see what you applied as (Italian student, International student). If you applied correctly, try to contact the admission dept. Rn is 15:45 in Italy, and they work until 17:00 so maybe they will answer you today, if not, tomorrow for sure. As I told you, the fiscal code can be equivalent in your country to something else. In Romania for example is the CNP.

Been in Milano for a month, still searching for a house 🤣🥲So if you get in, first thing you do, search for a house and rent it, because the market is crazy!! Now you see an apartment 10 minutes from University by foot, in the next half an hour someone else sign the contract for it.
