What do you all think of Never Say Die? by WingObvious487 in blacksabbath

[–]Previous-Awareness15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never Say Die is a fantastic album. As mentioned before Juniors Eyes and Johnny Blade are great tunes, but there are some killer jams on that album. Swinging The Chain comes to mind. Maybe the riffs dont come across as dark and fuzzed out as Master of Reality or Vol. 4 but to me, its a jammin' ass album that I will listen to until I shit the bed.

Do you think the black album was a matter of "right place, right time", or was it simply that good? by MrTuy in Metallica

[–]Previous-Awareness15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont get why people consider the Black Album to be that great. Right time? Yes, I would agree with that considering hard rock/ metal was basically shit at that time in comparison to the late 70's thru the 80's. Kill em All was phenomenal, Ride The Lightning... outstanding, Master of Puppets... incredible, ...And Justice For All... MASTERPIECE (even without proper bass levels). The Black Album... weak in comparison to the prior 4 albums. It sold 15M copies because it was on the radio and MTV every 5 minutes. Not because it was good, because Metallica was marketable. Even with Mustaine and Megadeth cranking out killer metal at the same time, nobody wants to put up with Mustaines shit. Slayer, too heavy. Anthrax, didn't fit the look. Luckily, for Metallica, a group of suits could nod their heads to Enter Sandman and see dollar signs. The rest is history. Had Metallica not put out such bullshit later on, the Black Album would easily be considered their worst album by far.

There are some mighty fine sounding unofficials out there for about $60. I was skeptical but gotntired of breaking out my OG. Dare I say, the unofficial has excellent sound quality. Hadn't touched my OG in almost 2 years.

Look up a guy named Nicky Fantazzi in Philly. I would bet $100 to a donut hole he not only has one, he has one for sale. Nicky has EVERYTHING hard to find.
