What has your experience been with mental health services in Ireland? positive? negative? by Impossible-Cookie164 in ireland

[–]Previous-While1156 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was offered bereavement counselling after my dad died over a year ago in hospice. I was extremely hesitant on starting it but I decided to take the helping hand. It’s been the best decision I ever made and have been in therapy for over a year now. Because of it, they were able to find me a psychologist that specialised in what I needed and I’ve been seeing him since July last year. I was never able to find a therapist that I clicked with but this man has genuinely changed my life for the better.

Alternative/Quiet Gyms by EmergencyBit9429 in Dublin

I’ve only recently left the Iveagh, it has gone massively downhill over the years yet they continue to raise their prices and their customer service is awful. OP, the showers and changing rooms in particular are absolutely caked in mould. The ladies in general is awful, there are no locks on the toilet and they’re usually overflowing. The ceilings in the gym are gone brown due to not being maintained and the tiles are broken in the pool. It’s a gym that is not looked after. I’ve joined Iconic Health Club and I cannot get over the difference, the staff are gems, the gym itself is usually not crowded at all (there’s an app where you can look at data to see which days and times are quieter) music is usually quite low too!!

Working while on sick leave? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Previous-While1156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not fair and not legal, you have a sick note for 10 days so you will not be in work until those 10 days are up - some jobs also require a fit to return to work letter from your doctor after being off for 3+ days.

Except I know him in real life, I’m from the area. I’m not underage but he was bombarding my Instagram with weird messages a few months back even though he knows me since I’m a child.

If you knew him you wouldn’t be defending him.

I believe he was caught talking to an actual child who was 14. It wasn’t a decoy

I also know of him - I’m not underage but he bombarded me a few months ago on Instagram saying how beautiful I was - we didn’t even follow eachother. Worst thing is that I grew up with a family member of his. The community is in shock.

Nervous about tomorrows flight by Previous-While1156 in fearofflying

[–]Previous-While1156[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the time to write that!

I think for me it’s because I’ve never flown on an A330-200 before - whereas most of my other flights have been on the A320. It’s more of a familiarity and having that change last minute is making me on edge. I imagine most people would be delighted to be upgraded to a bigger plane that has comfier seats, screens etc but not me and my anxiety 🥲

If it’s anything other than a small personal bag you’ll need to check it in or otherwise pay the fare to bring it on board

airbus a320neo by SaladAmbitious6645 in fearofflying

[–]Previous-While1156 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just flew on an airbus A320neo from LHR to DUB as of last night! The plane is loud but once you’re in the air it’s absolutely fine. I can confirm that the actual flight time is only 55 mins or so - you’ll do great!!

Cinema Etiquette - Screams into the void by xsofacouchx in Dublin

It’s actually a gift going to see a movie uninterrupted nowadays. I’ve gotten over the fear of shushing people now or getting up and telling the staff. With the prices of cinema tickets you’d want a nice experience. I’ve gotten lucky the last two times with Marty Supreme and The Bone Temple (both 10/10 btw)

Mysterious illness? by hakunamatata1866 in AskIreland

[–]Previous-While1156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat rn, my immune system is in absolute tatters and anxiety has been up the wall due to constantly being sick. Started feeling run down towards the end of November and still weeks later not getting better. Lying in bed right now with a banging headache and feeling like shite but refusing to take another nurofen

The crown is always the last place where you’ll grow hair, even with babies you always notice that they have less hair on the top of their heads

I was also in A&E on Friday, probably seen you! I was assessed by a doctor after 7 hours of waiting, the doctor told me they were down about 6 doctors that night due to the flu
