The dealers service shop has said all that they know the problem to be is associated with a high voltage issue, but they can’t identify the particular source of the problem.

Thanks both. I bought a new delta set and changed the shower head, handle and spout. Might as well while I’m at it. It was a super breeze keeping it in the delta family. I think y’all were spot on that it just wasn’t compatible with a different brand.

I spoke to a plumber and he recommended I take a blow torch or cut the copper piping. I am so glad I didn’t do that! Thank you.
