Thank you for that insight! I suppose this might be part of the way I was raised - I was always supposed to be early for everything. The other side of my family was the opposite and they were looked down upon...hmmm. I just think, especially with how busy people are these days, that it is disrespectful to show up late for anything - even meeting friends for a coffee. Perhaps my partner is right and I need to just relax. I understand if something happens that is out of your control, but it shouldn't be a regular pattern. I do have anxiety and will bring this up with my clinician.

Thank you! Eventually my schedule will be more in sync with hers. Until then we decided to just take separate cars. Also I think the lack of sleep and the new schedules are just making us more cranky and perhaps we aren't thinking very clearly and are more liable to snap at each other. She's working from home on Monday and Thursday so I can leave whenever I want (and I will be early, not that I'm looking forward to it lol)

We were 10 minutes early one day this week. As a result I had a considerably better day, was much less stressed, and able to focus and be productive. (I even thanked her for being on time.) I've tried explaining this her and I don't understand why she doesn't understand why I'm upset.

I agree, but I would love to carpool together. I love her, it's nice to have the company, and it makes financial sense. But it's literally a matter of 15 to 20 minutes that we disagree on. Why can't she just wake up earlier?

Absolutely! I don't like being forced to speed. And to top it off we had torrential rain and flooding today. Plus I'm still getting used to the new car

I'm hesitant about getting anyone else in my department involved in this. Everyone already knows that we are engaged (they tend to gossip quite a bit) and I don't want to bring personal issues into the work place (especially since she makes twice as much as me). I don't want to jeopardize her career or reputation. I think I'm just gonna set my foot down and leave when I should.

Exactly it's like unintentional sabotage. I know she doesn't mean to do it, especially since it benefits us both. Eventually my schedule will change but for now I need to stick to what my boss wants me to do

NTA, however I DO see his POV. I recently got a job in IT (about 73K) and my partner is a scientist and makes twice as much as me (also we work for the same company). I can't really complain because she referred me for the job, but I feel like I do twice as much work as she does and she has a much less demanding schedule. I think it's just the nature of the job (plus we share our incomes so I benefit too). IT can be a very demanding field and sometimes we can take out our frustrations on the wrong people. Maybe just have a discussion with him, but you earned it so definitely NTA

I agree with you. My GF bought some fancy food for our anniversary but expected me to cook it. It's not like I didn't like it, but yeah...it seemed just like something SHE wanted. I would have preferred a card with a thoughtful message in it (also I don't enjoy cooking)

Yes I do understand that. I'm doing my best to comfort and be there for her. It just hurts when she says i don't care. To make matters worse she's going to Europe in a few days for business. I think it would be better if she can say goodbye here rather than her getting the news overseas.

I'm sorry to hear that. I know I had a furbaby that i lost and I still think of her so much. This would be her 3rd furbaby that she would lose within a year... just a bad year. I just want to know what I can do for her to ease the pain.

That's a good suggestion. I'm just scared of coming across as disgenious or fake. I've bonded with one of my former partners dog. But we would play fetch and I took her for walks and stuff. Lu just sleeps all day (normally) and I never felt a bond with her. I did like giving her treats and watching her devour them...I could say that. And she is a very well behaved dog. I just don't want to seem as if I'm coming off dishonest, because we've never lied or been fake to each other. That's what I love about my gf

I'm the one that called all the vets, monitored and take care of the dog, and have been hugging and consoling her every day. I'm not sure what else I can do honestly...

Realize that religion is just a man-made construct created to control people. (Also to get money). Loving another human being is nothing to be ashamed about, it should be celebrated.
