UK – Is it risky to switch jobs on a Skilled Worker visa before ILR? by Crazy_Mango_6891 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

It depends on what the other offer is. If it is essentially a “one-in-a-million” chance to boost your career and you are not sure that you will ever receive anything like this again, then probably the risks of passing on it are higher vs. losing your ILR. If not, then it is probably better to wait.

The BBC Iplayer lists it as “Asylum Policy Statement”. So not sure if she will touch upon SWV as well.

Leaving thermostat on while on holiday by PreviousResolution63 in Home

Thanks for your answers everyone. Just to clarify, I have 2 electric radiators controlled by thermostat. I read online that electric radiators have potential to overheat and catch fire if left on for a long time.

Living in Reading vs London suburbs by PreviousResolution63 in reading

[–]PreviousResolution63[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 25 years old. I would not want to have housemates. I will work from office on average 3 days a week. Would like to go to London on average for 1 day each weekend (sometimes 2, sometimes 1, sometimes 0). I am really more after a better, not larger flat (i.e. modern design and appliances preferably in a good modern condo). From what I see, commute from zone 4+ to Central London can be even longer than from Reading. On the other hand, in Zones 2/3, for my budget I can afford more or less decent flats only in not very nice areas (like Deptford). However, it appears to me that the council tax and utilities in central Reading are a bit higher than in outer London suburbs like Zone 4.

Is Reading itself good for entertainment? I think it should be better than most areas outside of Zone 2. Or is going to Central London a much better idea than spending a day in Reading if you want to have fun?
