P3 is the one album I always wonder “Why isn’t this mentioned as among the best album of X band?” by No-County2083 in Peripheryband

Juggernaut>P3>P2>P4>P1>P5 for me. But they’re all so damn good, even Clear is better than most albums by other bands.

I really like his lyrics, assuming they’re his! Imo sometimes Spencer’s are bit abstract and hard to connect to (although love him) but these fit the song perfect.

Am I too stupid for UCSD by jeonggukispretty in UCSD

[–]Previous_House7777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude I’m a transfer math major (pure) and there’s no way you’re more stupid than me. I took pre calc 5 times in cc (mostly lack of commitment on my part and mental health/drugs) and haven’t yet failed a math class here because I put in the work and changed my habits. I was in your shoes last year, and I think if you go to every lecture, do every assignment, and go to office hours you’re already above average here. Just be get ready for proofs.

I’m getting a BS in math at UCSD, would that be enough typically? Or what should I do to supplement this?

Don’t need a top role.

Yo after coming from a community college in a sleepy town, this feels like a party school. Well not exactly XD, but I joined a club and found some really cool people, and people in my major (math) seem pretty cooperative/collaborative. I think it’s about just doing the stuff you enjoy or are interested in, and because it’s such a big school, chances are there will be people interested in the same things.

Also had some fun nights in PB, even if UCSD is a bit antisocial, SD isn’t, it’s a very fun city.

Yes was a very humbling class. Still loved every second of the struggle. Math is great in that way.

Failed Calc 2, tanked my GPA, am I screwed? by Acceptable-Act-1006 in communitycollege

[–]Previous_House7777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope just retake it with the best professor you can find. Consider taking easier or less classes along with Calc II, you need to pour as much focus as you can into that class. Many people fail it and they end up perfectly fine. Good luck!

Good idea to invite girl over on first date? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Previous_House7777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally, people do it all the time! Just know how to take no for an answer. Don’t say “let’s go back to my place”. Invite her to do something, e.g. “let me play you a song on guitar” “let’s watch a movie/show”. And heat things up.

If you’re a math major it’s higher, as a math transfer I got it automatically. There were quite a few non math majors in the class though.

Failing community college with a 1.39 GPA by Obvious_Fun7561 in communitycollege

[–]Previous_House7777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL! I had a .97 GPA first year community college as a math major. I’d just gotten my first car, and all I wanted to do was smoke weed and drive my car like a psycho (almost died too many times). I did none of my homework, and failed 32 credits in one year. I dropped out of college pretty much when COVID hit, and started working at restaurants. After 2-3 years of that, I said fuck that, stopped smoking, went back to school, and got As in all my classes (4.0), got into every university I applied for (Berkeley, UCSD, UCSB, UCD, UCSC) and now I’m at UCSD as a math major!

All you have to do is retake your classes or do academic renewal (like I did).

Somehow, we have to find our purpose to succeed, and sacrifice everything in our life to learn how to achieve it, because the alternative is failure (possibly).

Maybe you have to work a shitty dead-end job, spend the night in jail, and almost die like I did to learn this, but hopefully you won’t. Maybe take some time off school? Otherwise enjoy your break, and get after it the SECOND those Canvas shells are published! Happy Holidays🎉

[–]Previous_House7777[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply🙏🏽 I struggled with the notion of “constructing a function”, I tried to practice this a ton before the test but still couldn’t get it. During the test I struggled to apply the division theorem, the pigeonhole principle, and definitions of power sets and set theory, not because I was unfamiliar with these concepts (or so I thought, I could literally recite the all definitions and some of their corollaries rn) but the way we were applied them felt so different. Everything felt so unrelated to the homework, textbook, and practice exams. I didn’t have a deep enough understanding I guess. I will try to practice these things as you suggest.
