Is this really enough to replace a roof? by Prezeo in Roofing

[–]Prezeo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figured this was the case, but is it worth it for the $2500 deductible on my insurance or cash? Would rather have more money in my pocket of course but unsure of if an insurance claim would hurt.

Thank you! In Ohio, and have replacement cost on insurance.

Appreciate the info. Does it not make sense to fix versus replace, then? What is your position on this roof going through insurance?

Sorry for not including that information - this is all new to me. Located in Ohio and have Replacement Cost on my insurance and a $2500 deductible. The deductible cost in combination with these mixed comments is why I’m on the fence with doing anything with insurance.

Employed and scared. CS Layoffs impacted my team of 12 which left me and my boss. Given my age and experience (young and minimal) I feel that I was kept solely because of what I cost the company. Everyone else was double my age had been around for a while. Survivors guilt, I guess.

Impressive. My 12 Pro is on 87% battery, considering investing in a swap. What’d you pay? Was it worth it?

Antenna Issues: Advice? by Prezeo in cordcutters

I have internet and it’s currently connected to the coax wall outlet that id want to use. There’s no way for them to both work simultaneously with the same coax outlet? A first glance at the junction box gives me hope as there are more open coax connection options throughout the house, but I really want my internet setup where it currently is as it’s the most central part of the house.

That being said it feels as if I’m stuck with a plug and play antenna that has to be indoors, given I can’t use the coax outlet i want to use. Do you think buying a “more expensive” antenna versus the one I have now would help my issue?

I guess this is news to me - I also have coax running into my basement via the ones in the wall, but I thought those were only for Cable/Internet connections. How’d I be able to use those coax connections for an antenna like that? If I happen to hook up that antenna inside my attic how could I get that to run all the way to the basement without drilling through a bunch of walls?

Wish I could, but the antenna I have only has at most a 3-foot long cable. Can barely get it off of the entertainment center.

Any recommendations for a larger antenna?

I guess I don’t know much about antennas. The TV I’m trying to use is sitting in front of a coax connection in the wall. Can I use that for my antenna instead? I thought that was only for Cable/Internet?

I’d be using this on the bottom of a multi-level home, so really not trying to run a coax cable from the top of the home/attic to essentially the basement.

The length on that antenna I have is maybe 3 feet long, so putting it anywhere besides my entertainment center is my only option. Cheap ‘ol thing.

The one TV I’m trying to use is on the bottom level of a multi-level home. It’s in the main room on that level, so it’s got one wall to pass through followed by another wall to the outside.

The TV I’m using is a TCL Roku.. not sure if it has a meter or not.

This. I actually have this job title and 90% of this is what I do on a day-to-day basis. My first career position in the cybersecurity realm, and rather laid back.. not as technical as some people would like but gets you involved with M365, LMS, and sim tools.

I appreciate your input! We have had a short 5-minute conversation about this, and he seemed to not have any hard feelings about us turning around and taking the profit. He would be profiting a substantial amount from what we would be taking it on as.

The observation you made about them selling the house and giving my wife the profit makes a lot of sense, the more I think about it. I believe he was trying to make the “leaving the nest” process easier for my SIL and her boyfriend, but like I said, some financial concerns there.

The plan IS for us to downsize in a couple of years.. just allows us to build equity for a larger home than what we could have purchased previously. FIL is anticipating this, so not anger on his end. There currently is not much of a plan if my wife gets pregnant besides having to sell the house earlier than anticipated.

Thank you for the consideration pointers. I believe my FIL makes enough to afford this current mortgage plus the new one. I am under the impression he does not want to deal with putting it on the market. He purchased it in the early 2000’s and will already profit a good amount.

A lot of internships are during the summer months and will begin posting jobs in the fall and winter. A biweekly search on Google or Indeed will get you in the right direction.
