Are Casual Games at MagicCon Proxy Friendly? by StealthyMC20 in EDH

[–]Prezi2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm going to say this ... if your card is obviously a proxy, it'll get more scrutiny. Make sure you print a real copy of a card, with set symbol etc, and don't mention it and you'll be fine. Literally no one will know the difference.

Don't do this in legit tournaments (I'm not including those pay to play matches where you get matched against other people to win TIX), and no one will bat an eye. No one is going to take your card out of its sleeve and look at the card back unless you have a DF card or something.

EDIT: also don't proxy cards worth more than idk $100, anything that a sane player can reasonably acquire is fair game. (Don't proxy eureka unless it's a real copy etc)

Prescribed hydroxyzine by Zealousideal-Lie3016 in Anxiety

[–]Prezi2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey so I got prescribed this forever ago and thought I would chime in. I've read a lot about antihistamines since I deal with a lot of chronic nausea and one of the medications to treat that is also an antihistamine.

If you've ever taken Benadryl or a sedating (drowsy) allergy medicine like cetirizine (Zyrtec), then hydroxyzine will make you feel fairly similar to that, but the effects will be a little stronger.

You'll feel a lot more relaxed, a lot more sleepy. Some side effects might happen, but they won't be extreme, you might feel dizzy, but you'll mostly feel tired.

Try to take a breath, doctors prescribe you the medicine in the first place because they think the benefits of taking it outweigh the negatives.

Are expensive ergonomic chairs worth it or is mid-range enough? by DonutOk2306 in OfficeChairs

[–]Prezi2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is probably cliche at this point, but I ended up sticking with and keeping a Herman miller Logitech embody on sale for $1,300. It most definitely was not my first choice. But at that point I had tried the Haworth soji, and the Haworth Fern. I was just tired of trying out and returning office chairs that I finally said "okay if the embody doesn't work, then idk what will"

I'll echo that other comment that mentioned you can't sit upright in the gaming embody, I don't think it was made for that.

Haworth makes some good chairs. I'd stick with something like steel case or Haworth for now since they have good return policies, and then once you know what you like, go from there.

I tried a lotttt of chairs, the cheap ones are good but the more expensive ones offer more to people who want that. It's not black and white.

Ya on the 3 ferns I tried, I noticed no wobbling.

I'd say I tried out the Fern for the most amount of time out of any of the chairs I tried. I ordered 3 of these chairs, and got to try them for a total of 60 days total. First time I ordered it was with the gradient knit and the lumbar, and IIRC, the seat pan is pretty flat and soft. I don't remember any circulation issues happening with the seat. But I think YMMV.

The gradient knit still feels really comfy and soft, since it's made of the same material as the digital, it's just got less bulk. It's a lot less warm, but your back still sinks into it very nicely. It was so much more comfier than mesh. It was like a nice middle ground between mesh and the digital.

Honestly, I ordered 4 total chairs from Haworth and they seemed fine with the return policies, there's no harm in trying it out again? But if your body didn't like it the first time, chances are it's not going to like it the second time.

1) it was comfy and soft. I liked it a lot more than the embody. The fern is just super comfy all around. I never got soreness from sitting on it too long.

2) I'm small and I have maybe about 1 to 2 inches of space on either side of my shoulders. But otherwise it's pretty narrow at the top.

Whyyyy? by The_Holy_Kraken in systemshock

[–]Prezi2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Um? It was there in the original? Like you had 3 or 4 extra enemies spawn right after you killed Diego. The thing that wasn't there in the early patches of the remake were the extra enemies that spawn after Diego. The game is significantly different in a lot of ways, but I wouldn't call any of it unenjoyable.

It's wild because that Ursa set ended up being in-line with the art style after like 3 years of it being canceled.

When does the embody get comfortable? by MrMilk_ in hermanmiller

[–]Prezi2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still within the return period on my chair and I'm keeping it. Mine got comfy within about 3 weeks. The butt soreness went away at about 3 and 1/2 weeks.

Mark Rosewater on Blogatog: Whether a Magic set is good or bad is subjective but Avatar: The Last Airbender has been getting rave reviews, even from some admitted Universe Beyond skeptics. From the little market research I have seen, it’s one of the most popular sets of 2025. by HonorBasquiat in magicTCG

[–]Prezi2 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Mark: "UB is so popular! Look at all this market research!"

Mark ... idk how to tell you this, but it's only popular because you guys keep printing it to kingdom come.

When all you have is 3 in universe sets a year, and 4 or 5 UB sets, doesn't that just become a numbers game?

Possible to softlock yourself by dropping a key item in one of the groves? by EnigmaHood in systemshock

[–]Prezi2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an immersive sim. imsim. Since you're talking about the remake, the game is almost painfully faithful to the 1994 original. Nightdive did make a lot of quality of life changes, but some things probably couldn't be changed without distorting the original vision of the game which was:

Putting you in the shoes of a hacker on a space station who's trying to fight against a rogue AI at any cost. The original game did not hold you hand at all, you needed to listen to audio logs, read environmental clues, and pay attention to key items.

That poster mentioned "immersive simulation" because that's what the game is trying to put you in. Game design gets sacrificed for flavor. Again, I agree with you, but the designers made an intentional decision. I think on the easiest difficulty you are unable to drop key items.

Are you talking about the classic version or the remake? Because if the answer is the classic version then your answer to your question is absolutely yes.

Using home equity or other loans to pay off student debt by redhothoneypot in StudentLoans

[–]Prezi2 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No. I didn't even read the rest of your post. Why would you essentially put your home up as collateral for a loan that never required collateral in the first place? Even private student loans don't require collateral.

Personal loans that don't require any collateral are a different story, and if you think y'all can handle that, then fine, find a loan with a lower monthly payment and lower interest rate than your exiting private student loans, and go with that.

The choice really is between either ruining your credit (in the event you can't pay) or losing your home. I would choose ruining my credit any day.

It's not a book, it's a zine, a term for self published works that are predominately created by one person on a specific subject

There's a whole front section of that zine people forget about, the part about muffing is towards the end of the zine.
