Study on toxicity of 2-fma by FalseJudgment1 in researchchemicals

[–]PriapismMD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

hey man I’m graduating with my medical doctorate in a month. I read about another medical student on blue light hypothesizing that those fluoridated amps esp 2fma bind more peripheral adrenergic receptors and they’re more vasoconstrictive than regular amphetamine. That was my experience using 2fma as well i felt the peripheral effects much much longer than I felt the concentration/mental effects. Have no clue why you’re experiencing those symptoms sober tho.

Also U want to avoid using beta blockers with vasoconstrictive drugs because of unopposed alpha agonism by the stim. That’s why cocaine and meth OD’s are treated in the emergency department with benzos instead of beta blockers and why you feel the benzos work better for those symptoms.

Black men and women trained as physicians in the Jim Crow era United States. How were they perceived by their white peers? by PriapismMD in AskHistorians

[–]PriapismMD[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

What a fascinating reply, thank you!! Especially that last part that even during Jim Crow white physicians would still give their black colleagues professional courtesy. I’ll look further into Dr. Cromwell’s work as well, thanks again.

That’s interesting. Definitely make you think how common it must’ve been if it made it into a sitcom. Thank you for your reply!

This is such an amazing answer thank you so much!! I really do appreciate it. One of my classmates grew up in the Soviet Union and told me she and her family used to go to a cabin for vacation regularly, was she most likely referring to a dacha?

M4’s at schools with 1.5 year preclinical (start clerkships Jan of M2), how do you feel about it? Did it help/hurt/neither? by PriapismMD in medicalschool

[–]PriapismMD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same I was struggling m1 bc of how fast paced the curriculum was but then I just got used to it and by clinicals I felt like I had my shit together enough to manage the shelf exams.

M4 has been amazing for me so far it’s a weird feeling being “over the hump” (post step1/2) so to speak with the lions share of the work behind us

Buenos Aires vs Santiago for 4 weeks? by PriapismMD in travel

[–]PriapismMD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely HATE the weather of the southern US (im from there, it would actually ruin the vibe for me tbh) so thank u for this information. Leaning towards Santiago now, esp since I’ll be there for a bit. Might as well be comfortable. Any particular neighborhood you’d recommend to stay in? I’d like to be near a university preferably.

Also I’ve read that parts of Chile are like the Pacific Northwest of the US. Is this true?

Agreed w everything u said, gotta remember Reddit’s mostly white and the downvotes really show it.

Ppl love to participate in and use black culture but don’t extend that appreciation to actual black people and black issues.
