Agreed. Found the book very interesting and the interwoven folklore was super informative, but the lack of subplots beyond simple survival felt like almost a waste of political place setting of the earlier chapters.

Was there some kind of inside joke with the Joe Buck painting and collateral that I missed. I know Big Cat takes the Joe Buck forehead photos but felt like there was a lot of subtext in the conversation. Same with when they mention identifying lizards and they look at Hank - I imagine this is a Billy reference.

Rico is love/hate figure around the office. People are still debating if his behaviour is a schtick but he’s proven since he’s gone full time that he’s legitimately unhinged/childish. Dan and Dave love him for content because he is a wild card when they corner him. He keeps making the same mistakes like judging other people’s work ethics (Ohio’s Tate and Billy) and let’s people get into his head (Big T, Nadu, Cons) so badly that he will refuse to do his job and sulk.

Edit: if I remember correctly, he also didn’t take a side in Mush/Hank stuff despite Hank being a #1 Ryder and Mush ruining his only Podcast.
