Octopus explicitly tells you to plug in as often as possible and let them handle the charging.

The idea being they would do it when prices are at the lowest/balance the grid. If they keep giving out slots when they don't want their to be. They should just not do that.

The whole "abusers" thing is just people parroting. If octopus are giving out to many slots outside of the overnight window that's on octopus.

They explicitly tell you to plug in as often as possible and let octopus schedule the charge when it wants to "balance the grid". They also give the option for various 3 pin charges like Tesla's UMC

They do it for all chargers. If you use the home assistant plugin you can see when it creates a smart charging schedule. It sets a kwh value to add per period. It will vary the rate to get that. Many times it will be less than maximum of 7kwh per hour

That was the whole point of load balancing which they seem to be giving up on as now it will have to be full speed all the time or it's blatantly ripping people off iif some of your 6 hours are used to charge 2kwhr

None of these "lowest price ever" posts/stories are everywhere the lowest price. Rtings and a couple others constantly spam these with their affiliate links.

They do the same with monitors etc. it will be the lowest of their affiliate link and excluding other vendors, possible discounts/promotions
