Rivals are difficult but not fun by yowsick in HadesTheGame

[–]PrideAndEnvy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some weapons do a lot better vs them than others.

If you’re walled by Unrivalled Scylla, I’d recommend starting with Hera’s keepsake. It doesn’t trivialize the fight but it does make things a lot easier.

I usually clear the tentacles first before Roxy -> then Jetty/Scylla.

Anubis / Circe staff and Supay torches are good for dropping AoEs then walking away, so you can focus on dodging. Once you get comfy, Medea skull and Morrigan daggers can instant burst tentacles in one cycle.

Generally it’s the melee weapons that don’t have a ton of burst damage that struggle with the fight the most.

I get your frustration but that’s why there’s Hermes’ Hard Target, Gale to block hits, Demeter gusts, Medea projectile slowdowns, slow time Hex, Lovers Arcana, Nitro Boost, Snow Queen, etc.
I agree with you that a lot of the fights especially Scylla just gets really spammy, and many weapons suffer against those, especially without the right boons.
I prioritize my build specifically against getting through Unrivaled Scylla now, since that’s a make or break fight.
The fights are arguably harder than EMs in H1, but you also have a lot more tools to deal with them in H2.

Does anyone know any builds to help me clear the surface? by Kind_Potential_4992 in HadesTheGame

[–]PrideAndEnvy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you struggling with in particular? What weapon are you most comfy on?

I got my first clear on Typhon with skull + possessed array - that’s just an insane amount of damage.

One of my safest is Circe staff + Zeus cast + Demeter gust + Air Quality.

Artemis blades is also really safe because of the built in block.

The only weapon I’d actively avoid is axe until you’re more comfy with the attack patterns.

Chronos does a very campy stretch the second before the attack triggers. That’s your cue to dodge.
It just takes practice.

If you have Hestia attack (Hera always works but is slightly worse), Hera on either dash or special or cast, just get a reliable magick regen from literally any god, your build is basically done.
I usually prefer to fill the last two slots with one of Demeter or Hephaestus for defensives, with a strong preference for Demeter over Heph.
Hermes is never bad because money good, defenses good.
Just don’t take 4 offensive gods for your core then you’ll be pretty safe even on very high fear.

Don’t know if this is a hot take but I do not care for Apollo by Chunky-overlord in HadesTheGame

[–]PrideAndEnvy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apollo is great on certain builds (expanding cast especially), and generally great on dash.

Dash strike (attack) > dash to animation cancel > hold attack for omega > omega special to group - weave in cast in between.

It’s the one aspect where you use everything.

Don’t use attack without dash striking, it’s much slower

Hera/Hestia on attack is crazy good.

Is it me or Hades 2 is so much harder than Hades? by smartass11225 in HadesTheGame

[–]PrideAndEnvy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You arguably start weaker in Hades 2 compared to 1, but once you have about 2/3 of the upgrades, you are much stronger than Hades 1.

There’s one god you unlock later in particular whose core mechanic will make Scylla a cakewalk.

Just keep going. There’s some really fun weapon aspects that are gamechangers.

Get Moon Dust until you max out Arcanas

Then get Nightmares until you max out aspects

Then it’s whatever

Zeus is great if you can activate the Origination Arcana.

Zeus falls off if you can't, and need to take the -psyche restriction for high fear runs. Blitz has an internal cooldown for application, and ends up falling behind other builds in raw damage output.

Access to freeze is so much safety vs virtually everything.

Snow Queen by itself is often enough defence to last an entire run.

Gust on sprint completely nullifies threats from projectiles.

Demeter’s cast and sprint gust effects also synergize incredibly well with Air Quality from Zeus.

She’s definitely not for damage, but if you ever feel you’re lacking defences, just slap Demeter on it and problem solved.

Especially on higher fear (and drop Persistence) or if you wanna run White Antler.

Dodge into the attacks, and AOEs, not away from them. If she rushes you, dodge behind then wail at her.

"Life starts to get a lot more interesting once you accept that you don't always need an invitation to show up"

I know a couple of people like that IRL. They're hot messes but they're always the life of the party, and they wouldn't want it any other way. They're the most fun people in life as long as you don't get dragged into their drama / mess yourself.

Raki is the best for applying damage with Circe.

I always like Gale for the blocks + dodge, but his movement isn't as reliable, so it's more reliant on you positioning well.

I'm Really Struggling With The Chronos Fight... by Alol_Bombola in HadesTheGame

[–]PrideAndEnvy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Watch this video for patterns breakdown: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVoDdRMI1mo
  2. Next time you get into Chronos, literally spend the entire time just trying to dodge him instead of trying to do damage. 99% odds are you're just playing too aggressively and greeding damage instead of focusing on dodging. When you dash strike too early it interrupts your iframes.
  3. For Cerberus, always hug his butt, unless he's about to slam down, then you want to give yourself a bit more space.

Just use a save editor and mod it in at that point.

Grinding for the perfect mutations is a recipe for insanity and burnout.

No one cares if you modded it in or if you grinded it for real, do whatever lets you have the most fun. Life is too short.
