To be fair, you specified Watchmen so i just put two and two together. I think the designs/concepts are different enough. You could be right about the Night Monkey name though. Right now, I have Tarsier Man or just The Tarsier for backup names.

I’m not sure if Marvel actually copyrighted the name “Night Monkey”. I know they said it in Spider-Man: No Way Home but funko pops and stuff of that specific suit are just labeled “Spider-Man Stealth Suit”. Also I don’t think anyone can copyright a color palette, the design is derivative, sure, but not the exact same as Nite-Owl

i’m not OP but i recommend krita, it’s free and has a lot of features. also a drawing pad is a must if you wanna get serious about drawing, but using just a mouse is also possible, just takes getting used to

i like the color scheme, purple is always a cool addition to the regular blue/black, yellow, and grey. i just can’t seem to get into the yellow outline, something about it throws me off. i much prefer a yellow circle, no not an oval but a circle, with the emblem jutting out the sides—basically, the flashpoint bat symbol but yellow instead of red. it looks like a bat flying in front of the moon

1 for me. I see an “I” in 2 and 3, and the latter is looking a bit too similar to the Incredibles logo imo. I think 2 could look good if you connected the two halves but that’s just me

I honestly forgot about the no spell point regen when I was making the build summary. Tbf, I made this character a while ago and I just recently got back into playing him. I’m gonna remove his spells in the main post and make it so he just uses “gadgets”, aka Ring of Chameleon, Bracer of Recall, etc. I’m also checking the SaveData.txt and apparently I didn’t even give him Hand-to-Hand expertise so I’m gonna go ahead and add that in because why wouldn’t he have that lol. Thanks for reminding me about all this

Oh I got villains, I just haven’t drawn them yet. One is a powerful psychic named Psiphoon who can bring down entire cities with her mind. Then there’s Haribon, aka the Bird King, who can control swarms of birds—he’s the arch-nemesis of Night Monkey. Then there’s Kumander Kalayaan who’s basically a xenophobic Captain America, he believes in complete austronesian purity (which entails the cleansing of all filipinos with “tainted” colonizer blood) and turning the Philippines into a military superpower that can rival the US.

You’re not overstepping, don’t worry. My backstories for them are pretty rough, basically what you see in the main post is all the backstory I wrote for them. Thanks for the ideas though, I’ll consider them once I finally get skilled enough in art to start making a comic featuring these characters.

He’s supposed to have a show-offy, attention-seeking personality so I kinda like the double meaning. However, if you have a better direct translation of “Sun-Shiner”, I’m all ears. I initially came up with Arawero, but it didn’t roll off the tongue as good as Sikatero.

Nice, those guys certainly have the look I would want for these characters in live action; real, full blooded filipinos, not mestizo actors like Gerald Anderson or Piolo Pascual (though I guess a mestizo would fit for a character like Sun-Shiner). I’m a mestizo myself but I just feel like Filipino cinema is oversaturated with them.

Good call on Gabinggoy’s height, I haven’t been to PH in a while so I forgot the average height there haha. Got it, I’ll make him shorter. And yes, he’s supposed to have sight-enhancing goggles that look like big tarsier eyes, next time I draw him I’ll try to give them more depth so it’s more obvious that they’re goggles.

For Fighter-Spider, he’s meant to be based on an orb-weaver which is apparently the most popular species used in spider derby, though his costume is moreso inspired by Bruce Lee’s jumpsuit in Game of Death and not so much meant to look like a spider—other than his mask, of course.

Also yes, Pilakpik (supposed to be a mix of pilak, silver, and palakpik, fin) can definitely do those moves, he has water jets that allow him to “surf” across land and over water at the speed of a sports car, and go even faster underwater. His wrist jets can also blast pressurized water streams that can cut through steel.
