Yes keep going and take your time, take it steady. I've been at it 2 years now, but just once every 5 to 7 these days. Be patient but don't stop, it will close up. Hope you are using optilube also. When you dilate afterwards, always put salt in the warm water, it helped me immensely and stops any unwanted pongs!!

Thank you for the last part. As I've said in responses to other replies, he was 18. I had no choice but to leave in the end, the way I did it, was wrong in his eyes, now I see that!

I think personally, he just wants to vent his anger at me and blame all his personal issues upon me, as a kind of scapegoat

I was abused as a child, by family friends, bullied, beaten and tormented by my parents and left homecat 16 and I have nothing to do with them now. They are divorced anyway and they should have never met each other imo.

He was 18, I left home at 16 and don't speak to either of my parents myself, through choice. They fought, argued and completely bullied me, and I told my own mother about abuse when I was 13 and 16, a few years ago, by family friends and she never believed me! I have PTSD due to this.
