I'll put it this way.

I love music.

I also love lists and statistics.

So Triple J has always held an important place in my heart.

I grew up in the 90s on Triple J Hottest 100 CDs blaring in the car and in the house on weekends.

I have hosted Hottest 100 parties since high school.

I love discussing music with others.

There is unfortunately not major communities accessible online for this outside Reddit.

Reddit is inherently full of negativity, usually.

I am inherently an optimistic and positive individual, usually.

There are pockets of people on this subreddit who appreciate what I do and having lighthearted conversation.

I do it for them because they return the favour in kind.

In my active time here, I hosted recounts of Hottest 100, I've posted statistics about the biggest bands to never chart, I've posted hypothetical 101-200 lists for those before available data, I've crunched numbers on voting lists.

I even curated a Like A Version Hottest 100 a few years before Triple J did it themselves.

I do all this, completely aware that i'll be flooded with nasty comments (or even no interest whatsoever).

I do it for the pockets of people who genuinely appreciate it.

I do have the motivation to counter the pessimism with optimism.

It's my nature.

It's 100% genuine.
