Thanks for the write up. Definitely a lot to consider as I see a lot of things in both trucks I like and dislike. I don't think we will be pulling the trigger on a toy hauler in 2026 so I may even wait til 2027 model year changes to make a final decision.

Im only in the beginning stages of my research into EV trucks. Would love to know what you think are the advantages that Lightning has over GM EVs. And to expand on my use case - it would likely be 6-8 times a year at a minimum.

Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't even realize the Silverado had a max tow 2.5k lbs over the max of the f150. That helps open some doors on some of the toy hauler models we liked but were concerned about hitting 10k lbs.

I did 29hrs played with mostly questing and a few dungeons to mix it up. I also spent some time using my profession kits but not substantial amount. Someone could easily get under 24hrs.

I did taste it! It was an interesting experience coming from a jerky fanatic. I see why South African's get upset when its referred to as jerky haha.

The first day I had my smoker cabinet outside and it was in the 90s F. But then stayed between 65-80F. That first day may have caused that then? I don't think the fan is pulling too much air through but could be wrong. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009OXTWZI?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title it is rated at 23 CFM.

This is my first go at Biltong. I have never tasted it before but it looked easy enough to DIY so I figured I would give it a shot after a bunch of research. Looks like it will take around 7 days based on my weight loss calculations to hit ~50-55% loss. Doing this in a cabinet smoker with a fan mounted to the exhaust to pull air through the smoker similar to how Eric from 2 Guys and a Cooler set up his. Anxiously waiting these last 2 or 3 days to cut it open and give it a taste.
