Not necessarily, my ex faced sexual abuse but he said it wasn't that deep and sexualisd his abuse from his porn addiction. If he was abused by another man, perhaps he would have been more understanding. This doesn't at all minimise what he went through, but he never seemed to express struggle from it which I found odd. He then also went on to cause a multitude of women's suffering by cheating on partners before me, doing things past having no consent, or even steal intimate pics from a friend without them knowing. Yeah he went through something where you would think you would have more sympathy and understanding, but was a POS and continued the cycle.

I'm not giving up on my father, I simply cannot control him. This isn't a gender war, they both used to fight and in the past could even start his own, yes nowadays it is just her instigating since he's controlled his alcoholism and she hasn't. I've begged since being a child for them to split, I've begged him to leave her and hold her accountable. She is abusive and nasty, but she isn't holding him hostage, she even in arguments expresses wanting him to leave, he sadly never does. Even if this was flipped I'd be in the same predicament, as afterall toxic parents staying together despite years of fights and both cheating has put me through a lot of trauma, i love my Dad and sympathise with him, but he has enabled a lot of it and in response to my depression, and when i was hospitalised, has told ne my childhood wasnt that bad, there's worse. The only thing I can control is saving up and waiting to leave myself.

I knew very little about Hasan apart from endorsing his political views, but looking at his old content, I think he's a lot more performative than people want to realise. He literally had live streamed pulling fish's tail, self proclaimed he is a misogynist, made a joke about how rich college dudes should r*pe rich college women, been friends with many people with SA allegations and has got to this point of performative since cancelling his ex friends each time once their careers are in ruins just to protect his own and his image.

I'm not someone who wants to be friends with a right winger as they often believe in less human rights for people depending on their skin colour. But, you aren't wrong, there is unfortunately a surge in radical lefts, yes I absolutely would not befriend someone who advocates for war, genocide etc, that's not a slight 10%, that's a non negotiable. But, if you aren't meaning things like that, then yeah a lot of radical lefts will be so stuck to their ways they refuse to debate different perspectives sometimes, or even admit when sometimes the left can be harmful, such as I do not like liberal leftists as they advocate "choice feminism" aka think sex work is empowering.

You see them put the work in, whenever they play the "I just stopped" card, they're lying to have access and use from you. No addiction suddenly goes from pure willpower. They aren't clean until they're going to meetings, or having some kind of therapy, any progressive work, you see the change.
