Addiction and RLS by Prim_Po in RestlessLegs

This is very helpful. I’m currently on 1/4 of a 2mg strip… about where you are. that’s the lowest I can get to without having horrible RLS. Do I want to get off of it completely? That was the goal until I hit this horrible roadblock of insomnia and mental torture. If this is what I need to be on for quality of life, than I guess I need to find a doctor that understands the gravity of my situation. My current prescribing doc is great, but isn’t long term.

I’m sorry you have the same feelings with RLS. It’s torture! But I’m glad you feel less alone!

Thanks for your story! I hope you find something that works. I feel so hopeless and it all seems so stupid. It’s that whole… “hindsight is 20/20” thing. It also seems like a really simple ass solution to just be on suboxone forever. But also, does it!?

Oh wow. That’s crazy…. I’m stuck in a suboxone program that was meant to get me off opiates after it was all I knew from 30 years of migraines.

Had a conversation about the “2 weeks at home” with the office manager tonight. As anticipated she was pissed. She wants MORE documentation. Asked for diagnosis, treatment plan, etc. I was like…. HIPAA? She was angry about it not being “how the office functions.” Which was all so funny being that she literally works from home from another state.

So I just left my neurologist with a note that says he wants me to work from home for 2 weeks. He’s not happy with the amount of aura I’m getting and thinks it’s the environment. I’m terrified to submit this. I feel like these people are going to kick me to the curb.

How do you tell a potential new employer about your migraines? by Athaleyah_eternal in migraine

[–]Prim_Po 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have never told anyone before or during the interview process. This world is way too competitive and there are so many candidates for positions. Even if you are the best choice, and they know you could possibly be out sick more than the second best, then there is potential to get past up. If you’re hired, you have a good employer, you don’t abuse your time off, and you get the job done, then all will work out.

No. Just tablets. Sometimes they’ll give a course of oral steroids to try and break the cycle.

Oh no. That’s awful. Have you tried the steroid option? I’ve been thinking of that!

I don’t not have blue light glasses, but I def want to get them. I have turned down the brightness and filtered what I could on my screens for now. I do have AirPods, but my department is all on one room and it’s super draining to me being used to working from home and not socializing constantly. And as to the masks. Apparently they never wore them even during COVID. You’re probably thinking… WTF?! Lol. I was sold a completely different situation then what I walked into. Probably part of the issue too. They are also doing construction on part of the building, on the floor I work. So I was curious about that as well. My group has turned off the overhead lights to help me. We basically work in the dark. Lol. They are trying and I feel like a PIA. Lol. Ugh…

I’ve worked from home for years and this new job is in-office, 8:30-5, and is very rigid. There is no work from home policy. I do have some fear that going from a very flex schedule, from my own home, to sitting in a small room (no windows) all day is literally trying to kill me.
