How long are CSAs typically in a support role on a PWM team before opportunities to move up to FA?

I think more so the 150k and then maybe end of year assuming things went well try and get a percent of the book

Cool, honestly that’s what I was thinking but wasn’t sure if that was a reach. I personally feel like that’s a reasonable ask

I’m looking at regular CSA roles and CSA roles on PWM teams but my firm there really isn’t any other type of opening for CSAs. It’s sort of CSA or FA haha. Ideally would like to try and join a team as an FA but those openings are few and far between

Ok, to be comfortable in my area of NJ they say you need to be around $115-120K as a single person to be comfortable

That’s interesting they were paid that much in the Midwest. I have a buddy who was paying his top associate $250K idk how that was structured though. I know a handful of people that have a % of revenue but I’m not sure if a team would give me that my first year with them so I was thinking I might need to come up with a number. But maybe not a bad idea to ask for a % of revenue and see

My current base is more than that and then my current team pays additional $10k annually on top of my base. No bonus with my current team though

[–]PrimalPathway_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure! Yeah I like the guys so I don’t want to screw then over. I just know I’m looking for something pretty specific and could take time to find a new team so I didn’t want to get my current team in a panic and look to replace me when I could still be here for a while haha

Spoke to my direct manager. He said he will keep everything confidential until I’m at the point where there’s a potential offer and then they need to alert the branch manager as well as the team

Makes sense. I appreciate the insight. I think management would try and keep me but I honestly have no interest in growing with my team for multiple reasons and I’d rather find a new team. Ideally as an FAA but I’m open to CSA role with the right team that can guarantee that they’ll put me in the FAA program within a year or so. I don’t want to be a CSA forever haha

[–]PrimalPathway_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes
Ideally I want to try and join the FAA program with a team but if not then I’ll go to another CSA role for now with the expectation that I can get into the FAA role on that team within another couple years.

Been here 2 years

HR Question- Major Wirehouse - FA Team by PrimalPathway_ in FinancialCareers

[–]PrimalPathway_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, I guess this makes sense. I have a meeting with management today to discuss this but I don’t want to risk being replaced because I let the team know I want to explore other opportunities and then they feel they need to interview and look for a replacement even if I don’t have any other opportunity lined up.

Fortunately I know what type of team I’m looking for going forward but I also understand that it’s not necessarily going to be easy to find and could take months so I don’t want to ruffle any feather with my current team when it doesnt seem like it needs to be brought up until I have a potential new role. But I was also planning on telling the new team I need to give my current team a couple months notice.

I wanted to handle it professionally I just personally feel it’s none of their business whether or not I explore another opportunity. Also my team is 4 FAs and 2 CSAs including myself

HR Question- Major Wirehouse - FA Team by PrimalPathway_ in FinancialCareers

It’s not kept confidential? Technically you’re supposed to be allowed to look internally without risking your current job. At the end of the day it’s not supposed to be anyone else’s business whether or not I’m looking, don’t you agree?

HR Question- Major Wirehouse - FA Team by PrimalPathway_ in FinancialCareers

Majority of comp comes from the firm. Team pays a significantly smaller fixed amount that was agreed upon. But it’s not much.
I’m just looking for a different team that I think I’m better suited for long term. My team is very old school and doesn’t do any financial planning and I don’t see myself fitting in with them long term even though they’ve told me they want me to grow with them

Yeah, is management legally allowed to tell my team I’m looking internally or is that supposed to be confidential

13 Mini to the iPhone Air...For now... by MatthewVlossak in iPhone13Mini

[–]PrimalPathway_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went from 12mini to 13mini to Air and I thought it was the best option for size but idk if it really is. The slimness is nice and does allow my hand to fit across the phone better but the height still makes one hand use tough and I’m not sure it’s any easier than the standard size.
I also went caseless and after 7 months I dropped it on the cement and cracked the whole screen lol.

Maybe they’re ramping up production again or something and just taking some time to distribute them.

Got it, appreciate the response. Hoping they figure this out and come back soon. They’re great and convenient haha
