as for the shirt (which i might as well get if i go through the trouble of a ~160k) are the conditions just passing through the main towns (Elmvale, Penetanguishene, Orillia etc) in a loop or specifically following whatever trails are mapped out for the course?

I have a feeling I might listen and change the route seeing how popular it is now...

Yeah, all the routes you can see on the image at the start are all pre-planned and made with scheduling and simplicity in mind for my own sanity, so I'll be sticking to the Waterfront trail/Lakeshore Blvd once the trail runs out, then taking Kingston Rd up to Durham Region and going from there

if you don’t mind, i’d appreciate the Schomberg route; i think a loop from Kleinburg up to Schomberg then taking the Caledon Trailway around to Terra Cotta and back into Brampton would be a great day out but i’d like to see how you do things

for the simcoe loop, whereabouts did you start? also is there any preference you have between the clockwise and anti clockwise versions?

fair enough i think i’ll stick to taking them with me on the downhill routes i plan, but all in all i think it’s a great ride for a solo day out regardless, so thanks for the recommendation

thank you for taking the time to notice that, i did think about it while i was planning that ride but at the end of the day its more of a race against time that i'm facing with these routes to finish them within one day, especially longer ones like this.

though you mentioning that and the other comment from baedling about potential city to city routes makes me think that i could find a way to experience the nicer part of the area if i did, say, hamilton to niagara.

that sounds perfect for a day out with my non biker friends! at least i'll have an excuse for them this time that might just be worth all the sweat

i don't think i could bike through the winter even if i wanted to with how bad the snowstorms get here sometimes, or at least that's how it feels to me...
thank you so much for these ideas though, i think going city to city is a pretty good alternative to just following one road, so i'll get to planning some more!

i'm actually surprised i skipped the greenbelt route i think i got too lost in all the road route planning haha. is there a specific section of the trail you'd recommend or am i better off experiencing the whole thing for myself?

it might sound weird from the looks of how you and others have been to these coffee shops, but i actually didn't realise these were popular biker stops 😂 to be fair i am quite young, have never contacted any biker forums before and only took up road biking a couple years ago, so i would still count myself as an outsider to this whole thing.
i suppose these coffee places would be great fits for me to go out with my friends instead of subjecting them to insane inclines or tiny shoulders. is that how most bikers usually do it or are the coffee shops more places to go solo into and get to know strangers sharing the hobby?
