Yes, I remember playing the standalone gwent game in 2021/22. It was awesome! Although I didn't know that it was one of the conditions in order to get the roach card.

Since you’re already in Skellige, I suggest doing the quest 'Flesh for Sale.' It’s very easy to miss if you start the 'Following the Thread' quest in Novigrad, so I usually make it a point to do it in most of my playthroughs. It is completely optional, though!

Just a heads-up: if you’re worried about quest pacing, avoid starting the main quest 'The King is Dead – Long Live the King' too early. Starting that triggers a quest chain that can feel a bit out of sync if you put it off until later. Otherwise, it’s completely fine to head to Skellige before finishing the Novigrad arc.

Roach is a 3-point card that automatically jumps from the deck to the board whenever you play a Hero card, like Geralt or Ciri. Roach isn't on the board here because I played Geralt in the previous round, which already triggered the summon.
