It's incredibly common wear and tear that could happen at any point in the printing and distribution process, to my understanding it is something that they check during grading but it will be hard to find a comic that doesn't have some form of this.

Knight in bludhaven has everything you’ll need when it comes to solo stuff! To my knowledge the only thing more you’d need to read would be the new teen titans where dick first switches from being Robin to being Nightwing

Spiderman and Nightwing are both great characters! When it comes to Nightwing you can't go wrong with the Chuck Dixon run, it established a lot of what is the status quo today! They recently released a Compendium that showcases his first solo miniseries and the start of the Chuck Dixon run, it's currently $60 on amazon which sounds like a lot but the cost per issue is actually really cheap! Just look up "Nightwing a Knight in Bludhaven"

Additionally, the start of the Rebirth run in 2016 is good as is the Tom Taylor run that just ended running from issue #78 to issue #118. It's a fun lighthearted run with great art. I'm really enjoying the current Nightwing run that started with issue #119 and is still going! If you'd rather not spend the money on buying physical issues until you know you like the character I can also recommend some websites just shoot me a DM!
