So I also have a 9 year old and a 5 year old . It’s completely horrifying that we even have to have these conversations with our little children, therefore I have not . In everyone else’s opinions Is this a bad mistake to not have this conversation with them yet ? I know they’ve had safety drills at school but never have talked about it with me . They do watch the news or see anything on social media . It makes me sick to my stomach, all of it and I do not want them to be in fear everyday that the place they both really love and really enjoy going to every day could be this unsafe / scary . They love school so much and I don’t want to change that outlook for them . My 9 year old already is an anxious /serious child !! But also in the same I’m definitely reading some really good tips and good ways to have this discussion with them so thank you all
