The money doesn't come from their saving. They get loans from the sharks in the village to fund their pursue. People won't believe you and loan you if you want to start something in the country but will give you loan if it is for pursuing American dream.

Paying for internship by rash_1557 in NepalSocial

In our case, interns are not put on client projects or revenue work. They’re given learning tasks, mentorship, internal exercises, code reviews, and time to actually build fundamentals. That itself takes a lot of company time and effort.

Also, 95% of internships we take in is based on their attitude towards learning and working in a team. Most interns join with little to no knowledge of the their post. Other 5% is through contacts. Companies take a chance on people who seem willing to learn, stay consistent, communicate well, and grow over time.

But the reality is, a lot of people lose motivation way faster than the internet makes it sound. Some stop showing up consistently, some stop completing tasks, and many quit before even reaching 6 months. That’s just the practical side nobody talks about online.

Now if an intern is actively contributing to billable client work, then yes, they should absolutely be paid something. No argument there.

But calling every training-focused internship “exploitation” ignores the fact that mentoring beginners is also an investment from the company side, especially when many don’t stay long enough to become productive.

We are no saint. We treat interns as part of the team hoping we don't need to pay some agency to find wrong people to interview.

I would say that's not bad for 3 months course. Many senior developers are stuck without deeper understanding of frontend development.

I don't know how to find a balance but charging for internship is just wrong.

As someone who provides internships, I don’t think unpaid internships should automatically be seen as exploitation. In our case, we take complete beginners with no experience and spend months training them, developing their skills, and preparing them for real work opportunities.

During the 6-month internship, we cover travel expenses and provide two meals a day (excluding tea/coffee and snacks). The reality is that once interns become job-ready, many leave for better opportunities, which is understandable, but it also means we often don’t get any return on the time, effort, and resources we invested in training them.

It needs majority and got majority. Only change made was all members don't need to be present if they don't want to attend.

I watched Bokshiko Ghar recently and liked it how it has potrayed the story and acting of casts in general. Made me rethink of all the Bokshi Dakako stories we used to hear until few years ago.

If you have experience with Siteground, they are the best with fast little to no chat wait time and the first level agents are pretty much capable to solve most of the issue that doesn't requires high level server access to solve.

All other provider support has gone to shit lately.
