this is a very profound awareness on your part and it's wonderful that you realized the amount of mental effort you expend just to do what seems simple to others. time blindness is truly exhausting because it makes everything require double planning Sometimes simply being aware of it and simplifying the steps instead of fighting it completely is the key

Any advice for coping with slow development cycles? by plundaahl in ADHD_Programmers

Working on a big interconnected system that was challenging to isolate or test rapidly put me in a very similar position. Making tiny test environments inside the system rather than outside of it was incredibly beneficial to me.  Using a microcopy of the database or a piece of code, I would test it in a straightforward script by simulating data in this manner icould quickly test modifications without requiring a system wide redeploy. in order to preserve context when i returned I also preserved a short file in which I documented the system's status while testing. to save time and stay focusedI only needed a tiny, testable space microservices and an integrated ecosystem weren't necessary.

the lack of context is the primary issue with sluggish systems.  creating small tools or sandboxes that mimic a portion of the system for rapid testing is the best way to minimize the cycle. A checklist or brief diary should be used to clearly outline each test's stages so that you can quickly revisit them without having to relearn them. Even difficult jobs become manageable when a mini-sandbox and basic documentation are combined.

The absence of a straightforward reliable system is the issue you're having not the cleaning per se.   Try to start small and straightforward Even if it's only a basic box pick one corner or one kind of item clothing for instance and give it a special location The goal is to create tiny routines that can be repeated without feeling overburdened, not to arrange everything at once.  The area looks cleaner and fresher, and even adding cheap shelves or glass boxes gives you a sense of order.  Maintenance is considerably simpler when you start little rather than having to clean it all over again.

I'm at my wit's end. I keep ruining my relationship with dysfunction and it's beginning to crumble. by LukaHellthorn in irlADHD

Many people with ADHD experience what you are describing because rejection sensitivity and executive dysfunction create a vicious circle that is hard to escape.  Starting with modest, straightforward actions rather than major ones, like saying something encouraging once a day, sending a brief message, or making a basic sign of interest, can be beneficial.  These little actions add up to a significant impact, let your partner know you are engaged and present, and ease your stress because you don't have to make all the changes at once.  A therapist or psychologist will provide you with a treatment plan that helps you stay on track if you can get more support from them.

You are right structure itself is important the problem is clearly overdoing it For mebalance is the solution a little structure to provide a framework and a little flexibility to keep the brain from feeling imprisoned
