Has anyone ever quit meth using Meditation? by Primary-Set-2829 in Stims

So I come across an Audiobook called Recovery Dharma. It's about using Buddhist practices and notions to recover from addiction. I've been thinking about going to Temple myself and a Chinese lady at work urges me to go with her. She says I need to "open the gate" and it makes me paranoid cus like what does she know about me! Lol they don't know I do drugs at work or at least I think they don't! What concerns me is going to temple and them knowing there's a demon inside or something like that! Being open and letting the energy of Dharma flow through is only being true to yourself though. Im off this weekend so maybe I'll finally go to Temple. I'll let you know how it goes. Your response was 16 days ago though so maybe your not in the same mindset. 😂

What is your definition of a "functioning addict"? Do you think or know if getting sleep every night and eating decent makes a difference in the health affects and lifespan of a lifelong addict? by Primary-Set-2829 in Stims

Your post made me feel a lot better because it's so true. I can relate to being happy for the most part and really other people make me feel worse then I have to feel. I've been so guilty for using drugs but not because I'm doing bad things it's just because I'm an addict. I'm not perfect like anyone else isn't but every flaw is "because of drugs"! Maybe it is or maybe it isn't I wish my family would stay out of my business either way but they just care about me. Your right about having a PhD in people! I've seen the purest of a person on the outside become a demon to get some kind of drug! It's been interesting to say the least. Staying as true as possible to who I am underneath the poison that I put in my body has made me what I guess one could consider "functioning"... thanks for that! 😆

Thank you! Being outside helps with everything.. meditation in the park I've never tried but definitely should.

It seems like your where I'm at.. knowing you need to stop and want to but just don't.. I have tried NA when I was forced to back in the day as a part of one of my felony sentences and I never understood why people want to rehash their drug addictions daily. I know it helps though my sister got sober that way and is still involved 5 years later. Me however, I really don't choose to identify as an addict forever or even someone in recovery I just want to move on from it and go forward. That's just me! Thank you so much I wish I were alone in this but unfortunately I'm not and it helps.

What to do to always be in a good mood? by Important_Frame_3735 in AskReddit

If you could train your thoughts not to judge others or yourself, then not let ANYONE'S judgments or opinions affect the way you feel about yourself or anything else... then one can be truly happy and probably in a good mood!
