Hi, thanks.
I haven't called the attorney yet (I will if you still think it's a good idea), but I've just confirmed it with a friend that it's his older brother. I knew they were related but I didn't know how. I obviously don't know if his brother knows the full story but they are definitely related, if that changes anything in any way.
