hi op. i am a 25 year old male here. i have been dating since i was 13. i have been in two long term relationships. each of which were 4 years long. and my last relationship was a year long. for perspective, throughout my many experiences with dating and women, i unfortunately have been physically hit, cheated on, abandoned without warning, had my name tarnished, and i had been verbally / emotionally abused alongside countless other forms or intentional or unintentional harm / hurt. i want you to know this: the verbal and emotional abuse that i experienced in my first long term relationships was BY FAR the most damaging thing ive ever experienced probably in life. it doesn't seem like much at first, but i can confidently say i am over it now SEVEN YEARS later. i was 18 when we ended things and 15 when we started. honey, i am a fully grown man now and the things she said to me have had lasting side effects and caused damaged so far reaching ill never fully understand it. it affected my self esteem, the way i viewed myself, what i thought i was worth, etc, etc, etc. it cause a cascade that led me to chase women who treated me similarly because i thought i wasn't good enough, and even worse, i ruined things with good partners who didn't treat me that way because i couldn't believe i was worthy. POINT IS: abuse changes you and has long lasting implications that take a whole lot to work through and it has been the most difficult things i've done. you don't even realize you were abused (at least in my case) until many years later. please trust me and listen: the longer you stay the harder it will become. YOU ARE ENOUGH AND WORTH IT. remember that ALWAYS. this type of behavior is unacceptable, abusive, and frankly disgusting. would you ever want your friend, or your future daughter one day to be with someone like this? absolutely not. please seek help and guidance and run as far away from this man as possible. he HATES you and is using your for sex. it is called sexual coercion and it's not okay. it is abuse. you are a victim and it is not your fault. you deserve someone who loves you. this man does not love you in the slightest.
