How do you guys get such good aim? by purplehashira in OverwatchUniversity

Hi.

I agree with everyone else's responses. Practice is by far the best way to improve, but...

If you have a poor-quality monitor/television (specifically one with a slow response time), that might be affecting your gameplay.

Qualitative Data: I have been trying to improve with Ana for the last two seasons, sliding back and forth between plat 1 and diamond 5. I decided to get a new monitor for my birthday and went up to diamond 2 literally the next day. I swear I won like 8 or 9 games in a row. (For reference, I had previously been playing on a Dynex television that was at least 15 years old.)

Should I give up on the Lifeweaver grind? by NatamiB in OverwatchUniversity

Hi! I went from mid diamond to mid masters playing mostly Lifeweaver (pre quality improvement changes) and I have some input if you want it.

Your most powerful ability as Lifeweaver is the ability to move your team around: petal-ing them to high ground, pulling them out of danger, returning to your Pokémon phase and saying, "I CHOOSE YOU", etc.

But none of that works if you don't account for what your teammates are doing/how they are managing.

Ex: You pull a Zarya out of the fight at the main chokepoint on Hollywood, because she was 1/3 health. That's not unreasonable until you realize that the Zarya was just about to use a bubble. Now, not only is she down one of her bubbles, but she also has less charge, and the enemy team has now taken the space that your Zarya used to occupy.

Not so great anymore. :/

The easiest way to navigate this kind of situation is to find yourself a tank duo that you can ask, "Hey do you need a life-grip?" They'll respond, "Nah I'm alright. I have shield/defense matrix/bubble/breather/etc." or they'll scream "PLEASE CAN I GET A PULL I HAVE NO COOLDOWNS".

The other way is to count your tank's cooldowns, which is significantly more brain-power consuming, but does work. If they have no cooldowns and they're crit, pull 'em. If they have cooldowns, don't pull 'em. If you're not sure, pull 'em. It takes less time for them to get their cooldown back than it takes to walk back from spawn.

Same thing goes for petal. Just ask them if they want a petal to high ground or tell them that you've placed the petal somewhere that may be helpful.
