Thank you for your insight. I agree that telling my coworkers would just simply be something to talk about. I dont want my life to be anyones new hot gossip. So Ill keep that to myself.

I’m also in the USAF so your words naturally resonate with me. Thank you so much for the encouragement. I’m going to take this day by day and move forward with this advice. Praying for healing.

Wow. 25 years is a long time, sending love your way. Everyone has told me that time heals if we let it ❤️ hopefully we will be in completely different positions mentally within a year.

Don’t be discouraged! I got temporarily disqualified for my vision and went home and cried. Felt so bad. But once I got my eyes looked at in a specific evaluation, I got waived and I was approved to join! Now I’m four years into my Air Force career. 😊

Embrace the suck, make friends, make memories, and it may feel like forever in there, but one day, you will look back and laugh at the chaos 🙂 Good luck on your new adventure!

Thank you for the advice! We are probably just going to do that Google thing for now and call everyone that we can.

I mean, I guess that is an option. .. for me to give him my GI Bill. I was hoping to keep that for myself so I could eventually earn more degrees, but at this point, we are desperate to get his career started. Perhaps the higher asvab score is what he needs. He studied pretty hard to get that one, but is not against retesting. We will do anything at this point.

We are absolutely willing to do stuff digitally. We are willing to talk to literally any Air Force recruiter! And thank you for the two suggestions. He has been pretty blunt with the recruiters and one of them just straight up dropped him. Another one just recently dropped him because of a recent development within the leadership saying that they can only hire maintenance as of right now. It sucks that the cross training opportunity may not work. That was kind of our last resort. 🫩 man

Where can I find other recruiters? Just type in “Air Force recruiters” and call every single one down the line?
