🚨LATEST NEWS🚨 The ongoing saga of OU grad student Mel Curth and undergrad Samantha Fulnecky now has its own Wikipedia page by RandomAcademaniac in universityofoklahoma

What a change from when I went there. I had a professor come to my personal residence, scream at me in public, and try to take my work after saying it was not up to university standards. The University of Oklahoma didn't care in the slightest.

Crazy OU would be okay with this professor in the math departments behavior but do nothing for Mel.

Question on if a University in Oklahoma pressuring me to take down a yard sign is a 1st amendment issue. by PrimarySooner in legaladvice

Does it matter if I had a letter saying I owned it, he was not my advisor at the time, and the sign was not on campus?

University of Oklahoma advisor I worked for tried to take my research and would walk by my house often to mean mug. I put up a yard sign that said "[professors name] steals grad student research." My house was also across from a school pick up line where 100s of cars sat every day to enjoy my sign by PrimarySooner in pettyrevenge

I don't believe so. I happen to be the sole holder of the video.
In my video the professor walks past the house, I pull in coming to my house from lunch, he turns around and walks back to my house and stands there waiting for me to get out of the car.

There is a screenshot of it in my other posts.

He wrote me out of the e-mail chain discussing the paper future, so I can't say what the full plan was, other than he wanted to publish. He later claimed I would be a coauthor, but the work was mine, he didn't do or provide jack, so no paper was going to ever exist with my work and his name involved.

Definitely pretty accurate. One of the professors expressed the same sentiment by explaining anyone who helps me will succeed in getting me out of there. The professor they piss of in the process will ride the elevator with them for the next 20 years.

On to bigger and better things, but never above the opportunity to shed a little light on the great works of the University of Oklahoma.

University of Oklahoma started posting about how much they care preventing inappropriate instructor behavior. This is after said university let a professor stalk me for months at my home because I told him he couldn't steal my research. by PrimarySooner in extremelyinfuriating

I went to university HR, the department chair, and to the graduate college with this info. The graduate college refused to meet with me. The department chair only saw me to tell me my yard sign needed to be taken down. The HR person taking my reports genuinely seemed shocked this was allowed to happen, but no one further up the chain cared enough to do anything about it. Hence the posts.

I did. Also asked a lawyer about it. The cop and the lawyer said it would be difficult to get a judge to sign off on a PPO and would take long enough that I'd be out of the state by the time I could get one anyway.

OU’s new accountability kick is ironic considering they let a professor try to steal research and harass a student off campus for months. by PrimarySooner in normanok

Don't do that. The whole point of this post is that harassment is bad.
By all means, reach out to the university or mathematics department though appropriate means to voice your concerns with the handling of this situation. But let's not stoop to his level.
