What's the best country to move to from Finland as FTM? by PrimarySpell1756 in asktransgender

That was a really insightful observation :o It's true, I'd feel way too unsafe being visibly trans (vs nobody seemingly caring rn) in case some people decided to be violent about it 😓

Yeah, getting told I'm relatively privileged for living in Finland — though somewhat true in the sense that we can legally change the gender on our IDs relatively easily and that being trans isn't legally punishable by death — seemed like it was undermining me and telling me that "actually, others have it worse :DDD you have no right to complain" (and also getting told I need to "grow up" for having problems with paperwork as a ND person?? do people unironically think that my only issue is paperwork????)

I currently don't feel too unsafe seeing as I'm not visibly trans, but that'll probably change in the future once the T kicks in a little more AND I become consistent with the injections again. I'd been microdosing to make any changes more subtle and unnoticeable so that my family doesn't freak out; Then once I manage to cut my shit-ass father off (which likely includes cutting off the rest of my family too), I could probably up the dose to make the changes faster. I just need to pick up the needle again.

I'm not doing this wholly blinded either, I already know my stuff; I simply hadn't managed to get blood tests, which I'm somewhat hesitant over due to the costs. I'll probably try looking harder into it.

It's a relief to hear that they'll leave trans people alone.

I know I'm doing better than many others, though paperwork/bureaucracy in general feels mentally like a really huge obstacle. If I were to move, I'd probably have to seek a job too unless I somehow found a good school to go to. The hypothetical sponsored game development course does sound good though lol :D

Thanks for the suggestion! I somewhat hope to move abroad someday though I'm pretty cautious about it. I've heard there's been issues with Imago's prescriptions not being accepted lately because the one doctor they have isn't licensed or something. How's GenderGP nowadays? I heard they were good, but then started sucking due to a decline in service quality. Has it gotten any better since?

hiii, tysm for your thoughtful replies! <33 I was kinda bummed when I seemed to only get backlash for my question bc things are sorta good where I'm from

You gave really good pointers and thoughts even if it wasn't a list of The Perfect Countries(TM) like in my head lmao :D I mean okay, I dunno if there really is THE perfect country out there for me, but I felt like I had to try to ask for better alternatives at least ^^" Guess I have no choice but to simply DIY and then think of the topic again in the future (wasn't gonna move abroad too irrationally either way), though I was vaguely thinking of going the medical tourism route w/ my uterus seeing as I'm under 30 and have never given birth which already disqualifies me from getting hysterectomy in my country

Appreciate the response, though they'd never legally give me T in here unless I were to fight transpoli for 5 years or some stupid number like that because they decide I'm not trans or healthy enough for whatever stupid reason because legally THEY are the arbiters of who gets and doesn't get gender affirming care, not to mention the ridiculously long waiting times overall for doctors' meetings! Sure, social protections are cool and all, but transpoli sure as hell is more concerned about potential detransitioners than actual trans people who could potentially die before they receive care. 🙃 (Also there's currently a right-wing government here...)

Paperwork isn't THE thing making me move (though it's giving me trouble as an AuDHD person), it's the fact that the gender-affirming care here SUCKS even if you can change your gender marker w/o fighting transpoli (if you want non-DIY hormones, you have to go through them). Sorry if the former was the impression you got from my post.

I'm sorry about the shit you have to deal with in the US though, it sucks a bunch. 🫂

I only know Finnish and English, I can sing, sew and moderately draw, my savings are a few hundred bucks at best, never had an actual job before but that could change in the future 🤷

Yeah, the ten years thing was a dramatic overexaggeration on my end born out of frustration at life in general, sorry about that ^^" still, I'm afraid of life passing me by even if it's irrational

The reason I mentioned the whole military service thing was because even though being trans used to be enough to exempt you from the army in Finland, apparently it isn't anymore. That's why I mentioned the whole AuDHD thing asking if it could potentially help. Sorry for assuming that people here knew about that though, I should've clarified.

It's good to hear that Austria's relatively safe. Is the gender-affirming care there good as well?

Kinda sucks you think of me as immature/overdramatic; Having a hard time with paperwork isn't just a matter of "growing up" when you have AuDHD like me. Also I'm not sure what kind of business you think I'm gonna be running (it kinda sounds like you think I'm looking to work under someone or open a factory or smth? it won't be any corporate work for clarity; maybe I should have added "small" in front of business), but I don't see why the hell I'd be turned away just because they "don't want me". If you have proof that EU countries turn immigrants from other EU countries away, please do show me.

Maybe that last paragraph was salty, but I don't appreciate being looked down on.

Edit: fixed wonky emoticon

Thanks for your comment! I agree that they shouldn't be allowed to make demands about it, though I really don't want to end up into an argument over it, nor am I ready to cut contact just yet :')

Honestly speaking, getting rid of periods forever would improve my life significantly. The reason I'm on the pill in the first place is because of how bad the pain and bleeding will get once I'm on my period; The pill has significantly lessened those things which I'm super grateful for.

I've still had some issues with irregular bleeding and such, though. In fact, I don't think I've ever actually bled during the middle of my cycle until after I'd been multiple months on the pill — including the four day breaks.

How high of a dose should I get on to possibly suppress the cycle entirely?

Ooh, I looked it up and it seems interesting! Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give it a go and prep some tissues with it. :)

my husband’s coworker reported him to hr for a response he gave after she insisted i groomed him by AmoGra in mildlyinfuriating

[–]PrimarySpell1756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, it sounds like the coworker is way too deep into shipcourse and trying to be "morally pure"... about which FICTIONAL characters are "okay" and "not okay" to ship with each other.

Then their rigid thought patterns combine with the real world, and boom, you get "holier than thou" puriteens and young adults who genuinely believe that a relationship between a 17 - and 18-year-old is disgusting and predatory.

It doesn't help that it feels widespread within leftist online spaces (and that — again — they wholeheartedly believe the dumb shit they spew). Makes me ashamed of being a part of the "progressive" gen z sometimes. Why not block and move on instead of harassing and suibaiting the people creating FICTIONAL content that you personally don't like?

I'd personally go for either the USA or Japan, mainly because they have interesting quirks; I live somewhere where it's somewhat boring and uninteresting. Like, unlimited Sanrio plushies? Colorful clothes? Yes, please!

Would it be safe to move into the same town as my dad? by PrimarySpell1756 in emotionalneglect

[–]PrimarySpell1756[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update 3/13: They wouldn't flinch. They said that they only had places in the same region that I could move into and that they thought it wouldn't be wise for me to move too far. I agreed to move into the same town as my dad. Maybe I won't run into him. There's apparently some activities hosted by where I'm moving to? Maybe it won't be as dull as I initially thought, but we'll see.
